a)Every website needs to collect metrics on visitors, pageviews, time spent on the site, etc. What metrics, in your experience are most valuable to collect and why?

b)What web log analysis tools or other methods would you recommend for xyz.com (given that we are getting over one million visitors per month and are running Windows Server software)?

c)If you were in charge of implementing and maintaining a program for collecting and reporting on site metrics, how would you go about it, how long might it take, and how much do you think it would it cost?

Re Ticker Questions:
a) we have price forecasts and other types of useful information that we plan to stream to our users via a ticker. Would you first try to find and customize existing ticker software or develop a ticker from scratch?

b)What ticker software exists that you might be able to customize?

c)What language might you use if developing from scratch and why?
