hello,

I have a design I am created in photshop and it is now time to slice it. I added all the text I am going to use to the site into the PSD so I know what it will look like. My question is, should I hide those layers when I am slicing? I have read that when I go to add content in dreamweaver later I will just make the image the background of the cell so I need to hide them. Is this true?

I don't think you have to.

If you have the text in a graphic form it will not be search engine friendly. So slice the images without the text and insert the text later using Dreamweaver or any other editor.

RajanUrs (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=24598) is right.
If the text contains keywords, you'd better have to paste them to the html-code to let search engines view them and evaluate.
Besides, if your text is displayed as an image, your web page's size will increase greatly.
To place text in the picture doesn't have any sense. IMHO

sure , if you take the text out in the psd file, slice the image and then make the image the background of that <TD> in your html you'll be able to type over it
