Umm ... scans mail :)

Scans for spam and virus emails etc - configurable for server and per-domain - installation package and information available here:-

so it's like spamd? or better? how is resource usage?

Mailscanner uses SpamAssassin (which is not compatible on its own) and allows the user to configure his/her own requirements for spam/virus detection and stipulate what is done with it. A good option if you want to rid yourself of the never-ending flow of spam.

oh.. okay.. how is resource usage? does it use a lot?

My server is not resource intensive so it doesn't affect me - I guess it does use significant resources but I'm afraid I don't know how to check this to give you an accurate assessment.
