Do you guys sleep well at night?
Or...
can't leave the thought that one f*ching server may crash...
customers who are furious...
...

Crash? What's that? I thought only Windows did that. :stickout

My server's been very reliable, so I don't worry about it.

You need to sleep. I think your customers would be just as worried if you'd gone mad from lack of it. If nothing else a good amount of sleep is going to make you less grouchy and improve your interpersonal skills. :)

Well if you're going to lie awake at night worrying about bad things that might happen you should have been having problems long before having a server to take care of... what if someone breaks into my car? I hope a plane doesn't crash into the house... What if the power goes out so my alarm doesn't go off? Did I leave the gas on? What was that noise? Oh my god, a meteor might destroy the earth RIGHT NOW!!!!

Uptime 45 days 16 hours 6 minutes

it's last restart was for a software install

My phone rings if something goes wrong, I'm usually not too happy to hear it, but at least I don't have to worry! :D

I've had a couple and the RaQ4r's have the dual hdd's so that's a bit of extra protection. The only time mine died is when I let someone upgrade errrrr... I can't remember what it was, maybe php and they botched it. If you don't overload 'em, they're fairly durable (my experience).

Yes I sleep well.. if you have a good disaster plan written down somewhere (and do some tests once in a while) you will be confident that things will run smoothly.

Have you thought about paying to someone on different timezone? (Like say if you are from USA, pay to an Australian to watch over your server and do some support).
That should let you sleep well even with win98 servers :D

I know I sleep very well at night because I have 1 guy in India watching things for me 6 days a week and another guy in Denver 4 nights a week.

Well configured servers do not need attention.

I too sleep very well.

In the past when we were fork bombed and had some problems, I had some sleepless nights then, but now I sleep well.
