Hi I just got a dedicated server from webreseller.net and have a problem. I want the dns servers to be called something but when they setup plesk they used a different domain then i wanted (they also forgot to register it). How can I change plesk to use a new domain(bweebhosting.com)? I read through the manual and I think I need to "change the hostname/primary IP address for PSA" but I wanted to make sure.

Also how do transfer that domain to the server? Should I use Webreseller's DNS servers? They didn't really tell me what their DNS servers are.

Also can someone just feel me in on DNS a little, I haven't used it too much and just got a book to sit down and read but had some quick questions. If I add a domain to my site that is using my DNS server how do I add that entry through plesk?

Thanks, Ben

server, send this request to Paul there at webreseller and he should be able to tell you pretty quick what you need to know.

Plesk has a reconfigurator script to allow you to change the hostname yourself:
/usr/local/psa/bin/reconfigurator.sh

Just change it to your correct domain name and send a request to Webreseller to setup the nameservers as you wanted to. You will also need to your Plesk control panel and setup the DNS settings. I guess if you got one of those Plesk deals, these things should be setup by them.

You do not have to modify the PLESK dns settings any. The default should work fine.

Also after you change the hostname you will need to change the hostname in a many other places as well. Do a search at plesk.com forums for changing hostname.
