and get a real host.

Sorry I know that sounds harsh but if you do a search on hostonce here on WHT you will understand what I mean.

Stay away from ANY host that offers unlimited bandwidth or disk space and remember you get what you pay for. Shop on value price find a host that offers the level of service you feel comfortable with at a fair price. The lowest is not always the best deal as you have sadly found out.

Anyway the best thing you can do is move your site as soon as you can.

I, too, am having problems with hostonce. Signed up on 07APR02- no problems until this week(except that they never transferred the domain name to me). No ftp or virtual control panel access since Monday. 3 e-mails and 3 WonderDesk Helpdesk calls sent out- nothing. ALl I want is them to turn over the domain name to me so that I can move(I'll be lucky if that happens, from what I've been reading today).

If you want to contact them, you can try this:Technical Contact, Zone Contact:
hostonce.com support@hostonce.com
PO Box 728
Oakleigh, Vic 3166
Australia
95448280
Fax- 95440460

Don't know if it will work, I just found it when I looked up my own domain name( www.agonyagogo.com) to find it still listed as theirs.

Also, I joined a yahoo club put up for people having problems with HostOnce: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hostonce/

Let em know if you get anywhere with your situation!

Geez, I hope this works out somehow.

How long do you wait for their reply before you posted here? If you just send 3 tickets and the next min posted here, i guess you should wait for their response.

I sent the first one 2 days ago- yeah, I guess you're right- I should wait. I just got a little freaked out when I saw all these scary posts and reviews. I'll let you know how it turns out.

here's the instructions I got from them when I had the same problem - try it - it works!!!

"All you need to do is:
1. Login to your control panel
2. click on FTP
3. click on the FTP account you are using
4. specify HTDOCS as the home directory."

Seems like someone's going through all the latest HostOnce posts and defending them, for some unknown reason.

You're in every latest hostonce thread. Actually, that's all you've posted here with your 8 posts in total. :o

Well, I waited for them to reply- 3-4 days after I had made the HelpDesk 'calls' things were corrected- though they never told me why they needed to be corrected in the first place. As for the DNS change, apparently, the HelpDesk reply responded(which isn't e-mailed to you, btw, but posted ), I had submitted my latest request to the wrong HelpDesk area(I submitted the call to Customer Support, instead of, well, plainly enough: DNS Changes).

So, I re-submitted my plea for help, on 25MAY. 2 days later, 'Stu' replied and the information was updated. Everything seemed to be going fine...UNTIL:

Yesterday, I when bringing up my web browser, my own homepage asked for a username and password. My HostOnce username and password had no effect, and an error message came up saying that I was unauthorized to view the page requested. Entering other pages from the site into the browser- not that I thought that this would work- brings up a 'page unavailable/missing' error. I get the same password request when I try to view my site's stats in Virtual Control Panel- with, of course, the same result.

Well, it's back to the HelpDesk with yet another call for help. This is ridiculous.

Hey, wolvesfanuk - what's your defense for them, this time? Seriously, though- if you have any advice, I'm listening.
