View Full Version : WHM and resellers reliability question

Hi all :)

Can anyone help..

We have started to test some additional UNIX servers from a new provider with a view to placing a lot of resellers on them - the servers are UNIX with Linux and run the standard WHM.

During our testings we have added around 15-20 resellers that only do small amounts of new customers but our Apache keeps failing - this has happened 3 times in the last month alone. Our provider informs us that the reason for the failures is because we are placing resellers onto the servers and they mess up the settings etc and it's a risk we have to take. Is this correct ? Many years ago I dabbled personally with other companies resellers accounts using the same systems and I never had any down time in over 6 months.

In case it helps, we are not giving the resellers access to DNS, root etc etc, just allowing them to add account and the basics etc.

Any feedback on this would be great, plus, if this is a known issue and ways to remove this issue too would be brilliant :)

Thanks,

Jo

I've never seen any such thing. If Apache is failing, it is not because you're adding resellers. We've added resellers across many servers using WHM, and have had nothing but good results.

Now that I see where your server is, I'm not terribly surprised.

thanks for that :)

I couldn't see it myself to be honest but needed someone else to confirm.

Basically, the Apache and Bind keep failing, restarting the server and / or Apache and Bind seperatly doesn't help. Do you think that the server may be to blame ? I'm really not sure as to whether I should even carry on with this company but the deal is very good, but we 100% require reliable servers before we can even start to think of letting customers on there.

Do you have any ideas what it could be ?

Thanks again.

forgot to mention, the server we're having problems with isn't with donhost, the test server is www.securesite7.com :)

What errors are you getting?

As for where your server is now...I'm a bit shocked.
Have you emailed Mark?
