just tell "short" story about my experiance with starhost.hm ... i tell this to all to avoid this ppl
becuase of starhost i lost 280 customers .. yes 280 ...
i purchased a server from starhost after reading this offer

i thought it will be good to move the hi bandwidth domains to this server to save money (server come with 450gb transfer)
i get the server in timly manner with webmin, Mike of Interserver gave me a CPanel lisc and tried to install it, after hours Mike told me that he couldnt install the CPanel because of server!! :rolleyes:
i contact starhost, gave them the installer path and i asked them to install it for free like promissed in the offer.
after a day or 2 they sent me a guy to install the CPanel .. he was very clever and could install it. i descovered then that starhost tell their customers to help another customers ... :eek:
ok .. no problem .. i could manage it ...
i asked them to add IPs .. they promissed in offer to give unlimited number of IPs for free ....
of course after long days and long tickets .. they told me
"Here is the block. We decided to give you a bigger block with almost 124 usables IPs
Here is the block. Its already routed.
64.247.35.128/25
Gateway is 64.247.35.129
usable starts from .130 to 254 "
looked into server .. no IPs !! then i added it using WHM as i do with Burst, Interserver ..
after few days .. some IPs not respond, customers complains .. server uptime to respond is less than %50
contacted them again .... same guy answered me:
"You need to properly alias then in their subnet and route them over your box. If you do not do that, it won't work. "
oohhhh .... not routed yet? 2 minutes later .. server unreachable at all :confused:
contacted them again ..... get this answers .... (i have full log)
"http://64.247.34.134/ I can reach it. So can the rest of the world. "
he type an IP not belong to the server :eek:
contacted them again ... they told me:
"work like this we charge for.. we give you teh IPs you alias them .."
"We ARE able to give you further support for the normal fee of 60$ per hour"
hey ....... i want to add IPs its for freeeeee ..... server unreachable ....... 280 domains down ... ppl CRY ..... :angry:
they sent me their "REmote Admin" ( another customer ) to get things up ..... after hours he told me that server is Full of problems .. sent them again (server still down) they answered:
"server is full of problems" was used was/referred to the general condition of the server and mainly it's installed software. " :eek: i dont understand ...... i want my server up .....
they then sent
"Mr. Hale is called to post a response though, I only took the liberty to respond here first as he is still occupied with other tasks and will respond here when he finds the time to do so."
heheheheh ....... its conferance and ppl "took the liberty to respond here " ....... server still down :angry:
and althought the server is unreachable .. they closed all tickets .. give me some personal advices
"It seems you have too many problems. We will reboot it, thats all we will do. Rest is upto you. You need to better manage your server and its security. "
then
"Reboot did not work" :eek:
"and it will not connect to the 'internet'. Nothing else is wrong with it. " ...... nothing wrong just not connected to the internet .... nothing wrong :eek:
then i cried when starhost guy wrote
"As I said before my friend, you need to get into security if you want to survive in the ebusiness arena. "
he adviced me ... close the ticket ,,, and went ..... and server with 280 domains are not reachable ...
my openion "if you want to survive in the ebusiness arena" please avoid company not have technical stuff and cant install IPs or reboot server or anything else .... they will advice you like friend :D and will let you with down server
i have all logsm all tickets if some one want more details

if you cant provide unlimited FREE IPs then dont announce about that ..... if you dont have money to hire a tech ... then increase the prices or tell us the truth ......

StarGate 05-17-2002, 03:37 AM This guy is on eof the most blatant liars I have ever encountered. He did not know s**t about servers and was therefore surely not fit for an unmanaged server.
He did not install his software correctly and his server locked up every day because of that and we had to send out our techs sometimes 3 am in the morning to reboot + fix HIS problems.
He threatened us many times that he will post lies about us here at WHT and also with charge backs "that are so easy from Egypt" so that we give him extra payed support for free.
All I have to say that this guy MOHAMMED MONSON is a CROOK and it is HIM that should be avoided.
We had a total of 2 such clients that took bad advantage of our 30-days-mone-back-policy, threatening us and so forth. If this guy wasn't in Egypt I would give a couple of thousand to a lawyer and sue this crook!

And he did NOT loose 280 customers, he threw them into the bin. He was kicked by his last provider, probably for same reasons, and transferred them to the server although he had not even installed it properly and then blamed US for everything, as usual...
We have many good and satisfied clients. One of them just got his 3rd server from us. We are not gods and hell yeah we do make mistakes since we are at our startup. Having such crooks like 2MHOST as clients surely will not help.

You have a good rep around here but if you berate customers in public you will lose that real fast
I would suggest you answer the compliant tell your side about how it is an unmanaged server and all his issuses were software related , how you bent over backwards to help him. But leave the name calling out of it. You are a better host than that, keep it that way.

You are 100% right and I almost regret that I posted it. But after giving this guy 260 unjustified IPs because he just asked for my help and after giving him 4 tech hours for free (which I DO pay for) and after him sending an email to PaySystems saying that I am a FRAUD so he gets an unjustified refund from me, I just couldn't help myself... I am still outraged how people can be like this... 100% screwing up themselves and then blame others, blackmail them to get free service and in the end even making their threats real. It was him who made public LIES about me... I would NEVER take an issue with a client public. There was one a week ago which I felt I should to protect my fellow server resellers here but I didn't....

Besides 2mhost lost all credibility with me when I read his TOS and unlimited policy.
We allow unlimited bandwidth for sites:
- Not run any type of real media files, including ra, rm, mp3, mov, avi files.
- Not have any type or size of downloads including exe files and compressed files and pdf, docs.
- Not run any type of chat, forums, irc,.. programs or allow visitors to submit files by upload, ... .
If your site contains/runs one or more of subjects above we will allow a 2GB free bandwidth per month and charge you $4.00 for each GB above this 2GB.
Mega-res Reseller accounts:
resellers excluded from Unlimited band width rules, as they have limited bandwidth, Resellers can host downloads, MP3z, media files, .. .
Again we promiss a real unlimted bandwidth for site dosnt contain this subjects above.
Hang in there, I doubt you will lose any business over it.

I clearly stated that their must be other problem's in the server causing these ips not to work. It turned out he had them added in there twice on 2 different subnets. I told him this, and he did not reply. A few minutes later, he posted a trouble ticket stating he could not access the server. My guess would be he tried to remove the ips (to re-add them), and the server went offline.
Also, I am a StarHost staff member. However, I am also a customer. I told him this. He must have gotten the wrong impression.

You DO NOT KNOW how to install server ... thats the true after 3 weeks of failed trials to add CPanel and IPs
Un-Managed server means that i should manage it .. like install PHP, upgrade Perl, ...
Un-Managed server dosnt mean i get server can't keep the IP pool for 24 hours and unreachable for %50 of time :angry:
Un-Managed server dosnt mean i wait for 96 hours to install some IPs .. which never worked
i'lll make a charge back immediatly ... i promiss to do
samsam 05-17-2002, 09:08 AM i have a new webhosting company & I was planning to take a server from them but by this way of treating their customers .I think i will think once & more before dealing with them .I read their offer & impressed by in the beginning but for now i will go for sure to another company .

mhale 05-17-2002, 11:55 AM 2MHost..When CPanel was first installed on your server, it ran fine. It was only after a few days when you tried to add you IPs when the server messed up. So you had to have done something to cause this.

StarGate 05-17-2002, 01:58 PM ... that the client 2MHOSTs server is indeed locked up again but the client has NOT posted any ticket regarding this. My 2 techs are both there and would be glad to reboot him if he told us to.
But my best guess is he doesn't want to, since he decided to reveal his Helpdesk login to an unlimited public which is a clear violation of disclosure and highly unethical to do so. Not as to the content of the tickets though. I actually thought about posting them here in full detail before.
Now he is going for a chargeback and his evil treats and lies f.e. to my merchant account holder are continuing. I will do everything in my might to prevent this as he used the server for almost a full month and we did nothing wrong to him but help him all the time and give our work for free to him; a very unjust thing towards our clients that do pay 60$ per hour for our extra services.
For all server sellers that read this I can only highly warn you about this "customer" for that something like this does not happen to you too...
I actually knew this would happen when he first blackmailed me that he would post "good reviews on WHT" if I do not... blah blah

I feel SOOO damn stupid! I just made a search for "2mhost" here at WHT and my eyes almost fell out... if I had done that before I would have never sold him the server.
The (even more) stupid part is that I have people almost BEGGING to get a server, among them existing good customers, and I really could have given that server to someone else that would now be a happy client... I knew it was all my fault after all :rolleyes:

Now... if you are starhost... what will you do with a customer just do a charge-back?

This is the first time ever i ask some one for refund ....
and i didnt ask refund direct from starhost direct .. simply because i know the resaults ... i sent direct to paysystems to charge back my card ... if not do i'll charge back from the bank
i stay with starhost for 20 days ... i lost 280 customer .... let him fix the WHM and count the account if not belive me
i submited my help desk account for public to let ppl see the Level of support ....
and ofcourse i'll not wait forever tell you fix your server .... the charge back not my goal .. i spent in Advertising in a week what i paid for you for a month .... i pay $3000/mo for servers .. will not waste the time for you $150!
Fainall want to say to everybody here:
for me server without WHM = 0.00
servers provider with N O technical staff = 0.00
server provider without phone number = 0.00
what that ............... i waste my time in this (******)

Some smaller sites ( also of my customers ) I have
on local pc´s and load them up. So, downtime of days are not probably.
So I am also thinking of having everything on a third place.
If you have one server at one place - what are you

But if you take a look at 2mhost you will find a lack of business and support skills!
I dont even class my self as a competitor they seem to be in a league of there own, they have many many many un happy customers and the unhappy customers dont have a problem with provider errors but general lack of support Problems...
Just by reading some posts today i can not see why a business * so called * like 2mhost should even be able to make a comment on bad support, bad manners and just being plain rude!
It takes some time to install software and install it properly but it also takes alot of money and if you believe free ips means installtion your wrong...
Since you spend so much money on servers a month etc etc (Yeah Right) i dont understand why you dont go with what you *think* is a better provider.
Its the easiest trick in the book when you get a customer from WHT! "You give me an extra special service or i slash your wrists at WHT is the first thing the trouble makers state... ( I know i have been silly in the past too)
Anyway 2mhost i dont give you to long but i wish you all the best anyway and a speedy recovery to StarHost!
By the way i have nothing to do with any of the companies i have heard many fine things about StarHost and many bad things about 2mhost... I am just stating my opinion as always!

But they didn't instead they want the quick cash then wait a few months then cancel your account because of some stupid little thing you didn't even do.
In my case he said I used 220% of the cpu ? um a cpu can only have 100%. So what magical computer is he using? I have caught him in so many lies like when he said "terms is the terms since first day in business 18 months ago" but when I checked them today and they seem different from these:
