I've been running a web hosting business for over 3 years now, with the name ED Gods. I've received some indirect suggestions that this name sounds unprofessional. I have recently registered the domain hostcm.com
Should I change the name to Host CM or keep the ED Gods name?

I think HostCM sounds much better than ED Gods.

Can you re-establish brand name with new one? Are you going to loss your identity? Think over and take a decision.

HostCM sounds a lot more convincing than ED Gods, but still... plan this through. Consider Google's sandbox that affects new domains, park your old domain and take all the precautions you can.

I don't think many people have heard about us. Haven't exactly started any marketing campaigns.
I'd ask it this way: Would you personally buy hosting from HostCM or EDGods?

I'd definitely go for HostCM then.

IMO What's in a name? particularly when it comes to a service oriented business. However I agree from search engine point of view HostCM is better thatn EDGods.

A first impression is generally in a name. EDGods is by no means a horrible name; however, I feel that HostCM is a name that I would trust more just by the sounds of it. It is obvoiusly a bad thing to go for any service based simply on the name of that service, but it is also impossible for me not to have thoughts about a company when I first hear their name.
HostCM gets my vote
