All,

I am in the process of finding a new host, and am starting to notice that support is my biggest concern. I am particularly interested in a host that offers email and phone support. I know many of the people on this forum have much more hosting experience then me (note: newbie), so I thought I would ask what hosts are known for their great support?

Any advice/Suggestions welcome.

Thanks again for the help.

- Jason.

I have been with VenturesOnline.com since 6 months now. Support is fantastic, tickets are responded in less then 10 minutes most of the time.

I suggest you take a look at them.

Good luck!

www.venturesonline.com or www.hostmatters.com

Both are good companies.

Sometimes it takes a few e-mails to get the issue resolved at VO, but they are quick to picking up your ticket.

Need a dedicated? If so, Rackspace.com has the best support out there.

I can attest to that.

Zach:

You said that it takes sometimes a couple of emails to get an issue sorted out with VO. Do you mean that you've used email instead of the ticket system ?

Because my issues have all been adressed in less than 15min with the support desk. I even had some problems with my ISP routing to VO (Genuity had some problems and my ISP was still routing traffic through them instead of Qwest) and they made a config change on the router the day after and everything was fine.

Am I lucky ?

They, in my opinion, have the best support. I submitted a #3 priority ticket and they responded in under an hour.

They are always on ICQ or AIM and they are friendly, too. They're a relatively new company, though.

I gotta say if you are looking for support, go with VenturesOnline.com (VO), they are best in my book :)

I've been for a while with http://venturesonline.com and http://hostrocket.com

They are both good.

readyhosting.com looks good. $99 for a whole year, and you get 500mb, unlimited data transfer, asp, php etc.

stellar welcome to the boards, you will quickly find out that there is no such thing as unlimited data transfer. If your site(s) pull a large amount of bandwidth they will shut you down faster than you can say webhostingtalk.

I had a terrible experience with readyhosting.com about a year ago with two accounts that I had there (one for my own site and own for a client site.

if you want to test the "unlimitted bandwidth" of a host? post your site's link up here, and people will "test" for you.. see how fast your site got cut off..

.. nothing is unlimitted... there are only things that is "close" to unlimitted, but even so, a decent business would not claim to provide unlimitted services.
