I have been searching for many weeks for a reseller to choose from and I havent found one yet mostly because there are so many and each seems to be better then the other. Can someone please tell me the best company to choose if I am looking for at least 20 Gb space 200 GB bandwidth. I also want a company that offers modern bill with their packages, but Im not sure if any companys offers modern bill for free. Also can someone explain if reselling is the best bet, and what other choices I may have. I plan on having 50 customers within a month but within 6 months closer to 500 so Im not sure exactly how much space I should purchase.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Jon

Just with those specs, you'd need an extremely large VPS, or a dedicated. I would go straight for a dedicated if you need those specs.

www.ahvio.com

I found them while looking for demodemo tutorials. They offer free MB.

Yes, if you need 20 Gig space, get a VPS. And as regards to ModernBill "free" -- the cheapest fee I have seen here, so far, for an unlimited license by a reseller (of ModernBill licenses) is $18.50/month. I don't think there is a way to offer it for free, except it is installed on the host's domain. In that case, watch out -- you'd make yourself dependent from that host.

Well, Wizardkid101, the ModernBill licenses are $18 here ... that's indeed cheap, but not free. http://www.ahvio.com/services.php?_a=mblicense

As Anthony said, you would be better suited going for a dedicated server, or at least a VPS...

Also, what is your usage currently? Are your requirements predictions on the near future based on estimates on your targets or based on previous usage? Basically, are those requirements realisitic at the moment? Do you really need that much?
If so, then go for the dedicated server. You won't be able to find a decent provider to offer all that at a reasonable price yet maintain great reliability & quality..
Do you have a monthly budget?

All of my requirements are predictions, so I for sure wont need the 20 gig space right away, Can someone explain the difference between the VPS and the reseller account. Also does anyone have any opinions about Ahvio? Is modern bill free with Ahvio? I am looking to only spend $50 a month but with enough features maybe a little more.

Reseller account --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reseller_hosting
VPS --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_private_server

With a VPS you have more "power" ... you have full root access, can isntall what you want, can run your own version of e.g. PHP and MySQL, even your own OS and control panel software. You can offer reseller hosting yourself. If another reseller has a spammer on board and uses all the CPU that won't effect your accounts.

I know reseller accounts have alot of features for each customer, is it the same with VPS. I am new to the hosting business so I am thinking a reseller account might be easier anyone have any input? Can you still have ModernBill with VPS? How difficult is the process from switching from a reseller account to a VPS ir a Dedicated Server along with moving customers over.

>> .. thinking a reseller account might be easier

yes, correct, no server level admin work required

>> Can you still have ModernBill with VPS?

yes, sure, you can have whatever you would have with a dedciated server ... with a VPS you are pretty much your own master, and install what you want as long as it is legal

Very easy if you get your own nameservers set up from the beginning.

I am looking to only spend $50 a month but with enough features maybe a little more.Especially if that's with "overselling enabled", I recommend you to be very careful on which host you choose. The providers reputation and experience are very important in such cases. Even so, when going for low priced reseller hosting, the long term risk is rather high IMO.

About the VPS... personally, I'd use a reseller, even more so as you're not very experienced with the hosting business.

Another thing I would do is to start with a smaller account and look for a satisfying path of package upgrades. Spend lots of time experimenting with all the features of the control panel and any other applications you'll be using to run your business until you get profficient with them. Only then you should consider actually selling hosting.

Good point! With your request I wouldn't choose your host based on pricing structure. With that much space and bandwidth, you want a provider that will live up to the commitment.

Agreed! If you are not technical savvy, then I highly suggest a reseller account, possibly even with end-user support. This way your provider is handling pretty much everything. However, the end-user support may not be an option with your budget.

With that being said good luck.

If you are just starting out, then go for a reseller account. Indeed it will have less functionality than a VPS, but in this case, it's a good thing. A reseller is a very good way to learn the ropes and basics of web hosting without any hassle & headaches. You can always upgrade at a later time anyway...

Good Luck!

Well, usually a Reseller account is what is recommended for starts, then you would eventually move up to a VPS and from there your own Dedicated server....good luck

I remember i seen very cheap 6 months prepay licensing (effective 4.95$/mo.)of MB in offres section, Opting Reseller account from a good webhost and getting yourself MB leased is not a bad or long effort. Knownhost is a better option I see, then any other offering on WHT. Never think of going webhosts who give you 20GB/200Gb for only 10$, They will fly by nexy day with your money.
