What is the domain name, so then we can see if it really did go through. Also, you should check there T.O.S. about them registering your domain name.

The domain seems to be registered with Godaddy, and with the following nameservers:

Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.QSRCH.NET
NS2.QSRCH.NET
NS3.QSRCH.NET
NS4.QSRCH.NET

The domain should be yours if you paid for it, however; the domain might belong to dreamhost, if you got it for free. - depending on the T.O.S.

Domain was registered April 1st. When exactly you tried to register it with Dreamhost, when you cancelled account with them, etc... We're interested in full chronology of the events, if possible.

Thank you.

Why the heck people are using 'scam'-word so much nowadays?

Inform them you quit, stop the payments, do chargebacks of whatever payments they processed after your cancellation (to teach them a lesson) and move on with your life! Easy, eh?

Sigh, trouble is many people just don't know any better, especially when they ain't
got a clue how things work.

The domain appears to have been recently registered, just last month. What's the
full story, angeldust?

Scam can be used as a noun and a verb...ok
It also sounds like some Yiddish slang from NYC
