I have a few domains and wanted to consolidate them into one registrar. Which of the following is the best registrar for transferring just a few domains? Based on; dependability, support, & price.
stargate.com
godaddy.com
directi.com
enom.com
Thanks,
N8

NameCheap.com. They're an Enom reseller.

Whatever you do avoid Registerfly, Unifiednames or ANY of thier affiliates! We have had very BAD experiences, not one SEVERAL with them!

GoDaddy has always been great. But, as a domain speculator, I sell lot's of domains. And this conflicts with my routine. As they cost $20 per domain transfer, and require tons of paperwork from both the seller and buyer.

However for $1 less you get an even better service, and no problems releasing ownership to others instantaneously.
PowerPipe.com (http://powerpipe.com)

Highly recommended

Powerpipe.com is an enom reseller like Namecheap.com. Namecheap has the best user interface I've seen so far and they recently added a Global Modify function to change several or all domains information at once. Powerpipe doesn't have that feature yet.

No charge to become a reseller and get the $12 price. Not the best price out there but so easy to get and maintain.

Also, they handle all credit card transactions and fees as opposed to others which charge those to the reseller.

I did a lot of looking and ended up picking Stargate. I have 4 names so far and I put them with stargate. The ONLY thing that really bugged me so far, was they didn't have double entry for password selection. One to enter, one to confirm. They didn't have the confirm one. That sort of sceered me at first. But I guess if you make a mistake you can still get it emialed if you get THAT right.

As far as service, they do a great job. I like that I can use the forwarding or cloaking feature. And you get a free email too where some others charged for it. I thought that was good if you needed to just park it there for a while. I have a few similar names pointing to one address, this made it easy without having to take up extra sites.

Go daddy did look good too. It was cheaper but didn't have the free email or Domain lock.

I transfered and made the forst ones togheter, so I got them for under $10.00 a year. I haven't had to renew yet, but I am hoping I can get discounts even though $14.00 Per Year and another $4.00 per year for the ones with domain lock wasn't too bad.

I liked them enough I decided to start transferring more names to them.

So I have to recommend Stargate.

Thanks for all this great information. Since I only have about half a dozen names to keep up with, how important is ICANN vs. going with a reseller of ICANN? Do you get more services and interface? Are they actually value added resllers, or should I just go with a top level seller?
