Hello groovers,

I need a good co.uk register. Please help...

(1) One that hides the register information from whois searches.

(2) That makes transferring easy and online.

Really appreciate any help on this as I have no idea on a quality .co.uk company to use!

Cheers

Try ukreg.com , you control your domain name via a control panel where you can modify nameservers as you wish.

I personally use KDAWebserives.com for my domain registrations and have had no problems with them you may want to check out these :

123 reg are great.
cheap fully functional and fast.
however no one will 'hide' your details from whois. why do you want to do this? if you mean your address when they start publishing them use a proxy address.

Hi all,

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to hide my contact, name etc data. I just don't want it out there to be viewed by everyone and anyone...

Do UKReg or 123reg do this?

Cheers
James

Hi,

The imformation that is revealed when a whois is done is not decided by ukreg or 123reg, it is decided by nominet.

UK domain names do not currently show your address, only who actually owns the domain name so it will show your name.

They will be showing the address within 2 months or so.

Not possible.
The postal address will be shown from the beginning of July and if you put a false one in you will no longer own the domain name.
This is necessary in order to introduce accountability into internet operations.

However you might want to look at Centralnic domains (uk.com/gb.com) which can have you c/o the registrar
as standard and www.nunames.nu (.nu domain) which does nto give whois information other than name.
