View Full Version : Instant Account Activation

Hello everyone,

We are near the end of the design stage of our site and are now entering the setup stage.

We want to offer instant account activation but as things stand we have little idea about how to do this.

We want it so when a client signs up on our site he is sent an E-Mail with transfer info and also his account login info, of course at the beggining the user will need to login using an IP and his own username and pass but we need to find away that generates usernames and passwords.

We have WHM/cPanel and have been told its to do with the remote access key.

Does anyone here have any idea on how to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dexter1,

Do you know if Plesk control panels support this also? That does sound like a nice feature...

I wouldn't recommend instant activation ...its a pretty good way to attract spammers.

...and get stuck with the bill to boot.

Most hosts will not refund your account costs for fraudulent sign-ups and spam sign-ups. Not only do you lose the $$ on the sale, but you get a chargeback fee, plus possibly a spammer fine from your upstream, and after the 2nd or 3rd incidence you may even be out looking for a new host. (Nobody wants to host a spam magnet)

Resellers should always make sure they have validated, verified payment in-hand before hitting the "activate" button.

:) Maybe that was already in your plans (kinda hard to tell from the post) but... better safe than sorry.

Hi,

Thanks for that info Marc,

We are online all the time anyway so perhaps its best to set accounts up manually.
