i hope some one can regcommend me a good open source help desk software

i am looking at osticket at the moment. but hope to get some feedback from all which is a good help desk tool to use.

all i need it a tool to monitor corespondence among my agents & customers. i do not neet a live chat feature.

i am using cpanel, and do not plan to provide the email account login details to my agents but to have them all have the communications with the clients through the help desk system as it will be easier to track back on the records.

so, this help desk software must be able to allow my agents to send out emails to the customers & all customers who send in emails to the agent's email address will be captured on the help desk system.

any idea any software that can handle this??

I wanted to try Cereberus and for the life of me did not understand the install instructions and get it running. I've installed tens of 100's of scripts but this thing just sucked ***.

I'll try one more time today for the hell of it. See hwo it goes. Os ticket was easy to install but development seems to have stoped. I think there is anohter site that has take up further development of the OSTicket software but cant remeber the url.

cereberus - could get it installed, tried to contact the support but no one got back till now, it's been a week.

support-logic, php support tickets looks good, and for osticket - shame to say, but i can't find the download :(

the main idea of this help desk system is to enable my agents to communicate with the customer where the customer can reply by email or create a new ticket by sending in a fresh email and to have all the communication recorded on the help desk.

and most important is to hide the customers' email address from the agents. i know this sounds funny, but it's requested by the boss. :(

can anyone suggest which script would be good to use? if possible have these fuctions by default or come to worst, which is easier to mod.

I noticed that osTicket isn't on the main site anymore either. A group of individuals decided to make a community version of the product, and you can find it at the link below.
