Here's the problem we're currently experiencing with ENOM

We setup automatic renewal over 1 month ago and their webpanel shows that expiration date is 3/31/2007. But any whois shows that will be expired on 2006/03/31.

We have been trying to contact them for over 1 week and they answered for only last email and they said like:

"Don't worry, the domain has been renewed successfully"

Today, we called them again and they told that they were experiencing problems with renewal procedure. We asked them how long it would take but they didn't tell even though we told him that the domain name would be expired in 2 days.

In fact, due to ENON's fault, we're going to lose that domain name.

I'm not sure but I think that the domain should auto-renew on the date it expires.

No, ENOM confirmed that they have been expriencing problems and they were looking for that

The auto-renew normally triggers two weeks before the expiration date.

So renew it manually?

we can't renew because their wepanel says "2007" and refuses to renew.

the domain will be expired tomorrow....... and you'll lose the domain

enom should have a grace period, I just don't know how long will they allow you
to be able to renew the name before it lands in their auction system.

Ask them about it. See if they can give "suspend" their billing cycle temporarily
somehow, just to give both of you time to rectify this.

Yes, it's

It's very well promoted domain name and a huge company uses that.

if it's lost, a lot of sue processes will be started

Tell them you want their confirmation in writing that the domain will not be expiring tomorrow due to their problems with their renewals and the inconsistences between the whois and your account. Usually whois queries can lag behind reality by up to 72 hours, if you have only recently renewed the domain.

So it's not just their auto renewal that's broken it's their manual renewal as well?

You should be able to increase the registration period of your name at any time until it gets to redemption period.

Sounds like you need to put a transfer request in for the name from ANOTHER registrar - that will renew the name automatically AND get it to safety.

it was supposed to be renewed weeks ago.

and they confirmed that their renewal system had been experiencing problems

It doesn't allow to do manual renewal because at their system the domain has 2007 as exp date.

so they don't allow to add more years.

Also today we got a very strange email from them..

it says:
Type Qty ExtAmt Description / Status
===============================================================================
Renewal 1 $0.00 xxxxxx.xxx / Cannot extend domain
(not registered by us)

THIS ORDER WAS NOT BILLED.

But when I login into their webpanel, I can see that domain registered at their service and I can change settings.

I don't know what going is with ENOM.

2 really big problems

What? They'll only let you renew it for 1 year at most?

That's nuts!

Ha
Funny thing :(

I've just logged into that webpanel, and it says that expiration date is 2006 now!

Only yesterday it was 2007 :(

their support guys said us just a couple days ago that exp date was 2007.

They silently changed exp date back to 2006.

definitely ENOM is not company to go with............

I think if the date on CP has changed from 2007 to 2006, you ARE able to renew... Please do this ASAP!!!
