Hello Everyone!,
I am not exactly a new member of WHT as I have been reading the forums on a daily basis for the past 6 months however I tried to stay anonymous and did not disclose my name or location so I did'nt get to know WHT's members. I did not disclose my location as I was afraid that becuase of the events of Sep11 it would negatively impact my business as I am from Pakistan :). ( I have realised now that I was just overspeculating)

Anyway I have become attached to WHT over the past few months and want to know you all personally also instead of just reading the posts. So if anyone would like to talk to me add in your instant messenger lists and even otherwise just add me.

Regards

Pakistan!!! Why you!

Just kidding.. Welcome :) Glad you de-cloaked and joined the mad fray here. I can't speak for everyone, but I have no problem with your being from pakistan. Just like all americans are not capitalist pigs, all pakistani's are not terrorists.

Welcome to WHT!

Thanks for the warm welcome redjackryan.
I will try to participate as much as possible in the discussions here and hope to run into you soon.

Also I am making an Instant Messenger list of fellow web hosters so that we might be able to discuss stuff in realtime sometimes. I run a couple of sites providing shared hosting and reseller plans. I am running CPanel on all my servers (3 in total).

Also if any of you have recently gotten a Full Merchant Account from Pakistan or another country from this region, i would really appreciate if you tell me how to get it. I have been searching for 6 months for a Merchant Account. I already have a merchant account from sfCommerce.com but they are not giving a second account for my new company after Sep11.

Actually, I manage quite fine with President Musharraf, infact I have benefitted from it. Pakistan like most developing countries is plagued by curruption and Pakistan probably has more than its fair share of it. Since the army took over I have seen great improvement in our country. (btw if your thinking that curruption has finished, think again.) The currption remains the same but the army gets things done while the democratically elected government is a much worse tyrant here. If you look at pakistan's history you will notice that all the progress has been made when there was Martial Law.

Let me give you a very simple example, before Musharraf's government I was sick of electricty black-outs which happen twice a day every day here and they happened without notice at any time. I lost a lot of unsaved data that way but now atleast the black-outs are'nt completely finished they just happen at a precise time so we know when to turn our computer's off and save our data. :)

Also the rates of bandwidth and other IT related products and services have gone down which is good.

This situation can be described best by this "Best Of The Worst". I would say that both Musharraf and our democratically elected governments are EXTREMEMLY currupt, but if we had a choice I think Musharraf would be better becuase he is the Best of the Worst.

May I welcome you to the forums, also on behalf of the other moderators (hope you guys dont mind), even the moderators are from car flung corners of the world, its the person that matters not the government that controls them.

I know people from many areas of the world online and get on with all of them, some of them I even have the confidence to travel to their country and meet them in person.

If you have any queries fee free to ICQ me, my details are in my WHT profile.

Enjoy Your Stay and have your Say :)

Welcome and to add to your statement about graft.

Graft, within your country, has evolved to such I high degree that if you are not native, you'll be spinning your wheels. Best thing is to find someone to be your agent rep. they know whom to grease.

I know Asher, and talk to him regularly.

I even have a dedicated server from him. He is a nice person and has helped me with many things even not relating to dedicated servers.
