It works well. Regards, Jeff successful 05-15-2002, 10:34 AM www.deskpro.com okihost 05-15-2002, 10:57 AM We also user PerlDesk which we love it has some great features and there is support there if you need it.. Best of all it's FREE!!!!! help4hosts 05-15-2002, 11:49 AM Yeah, my vote goes to PerlDesk too. I've been using it for about 3 months and no complaints. And they just released a new version which I haven't tried yet. Not sure of the new features, but I can't imagine what else the script needs. It works pretty well as is. Thanks, Joe AhmedF 05-15-2002, 01:34 PM Umm... perlDesk is awesome for sure [we use it ourselves] but it isnt written in PHP :P foe 05-15-2002, 02:28 PM Hmm I never played around with perl know php really well though, would it be hard to install? help4hosts 05-15-2002, 02:33 PM but it isnt written in PHP :P Whoops, missed that part about being php/mysql. :) While Perldesk is written in Perl, it does use a mysql db on the backend. And Perldesk is pretty easy to setup. Really just upload everything, fix up the config file to reflect your db, user, etc., chmod all your cgi files correctly and you're ready to go. mdrussell 05-15-2002, 03:38 PM We wrote our own ticket system due to the lack of good software available - it may be the best way to go if you want more control on your ticket system. Matt foe 05-15-2002, 04:25 PM Im figuring perldesk uses mysql, correct? regier 05-15-2002, 04:39 PM I'd also vote for deskpro. It has been great for us. help4hosts 05-15-2002, 04:56 PM Im figuring perldesk uses mysql, correct? Yes, it does. :) Regards, Joe apollo 05-16-2002, 03:06 AM custom soft is the best... ;) webx 05-16-2002, 10:32 AM Originally posted by apollo custom soft is the best... ;) No doubt about it ;) derek.bodner 05-16-2002, 03:15 PM PerlDesk here, haven't had any problems whatsoever. SonServer 05-17-2002, 07:43 AM I have been using "Support Center" from: http://www.isolsoft.com for the last couple weeks. It's not free, but at only $99 it's not a bad deal either. There are a few minor things that I would like to see added and the developer tells me that a new version will be out in the next day or so with most of what I have asked for already in it. :look: SonServer Max J. 05-18-2002, 06:04 AM http://www.kayako.com iBiz 05-18-2002, 06:44 PM Give PhpSupportDesk a look. It works great for me and is always improving. http://www.phpsupportdesk.com It is written in PHP and is very easy to install. AcuNett 05-18-2002, 07:04 PM PerlDesk is a resource hog :/, most likely because it's writtin in CGI ho247 05-19-2002, 03:29 AM All CGI scripts are resource hogs, but we only decided to use PerlBill (includes a support desk, similar to PerlDesk), due to it's features and also because it uses a MySQL database which helps a lot.
