Hi all
Does any experienced WHT member (eg, thewitt) know whether it's possible to find out who holds a SnapBack on a particular domain name?
In addition, if anyone says he's the rightful holder of such SnapBack, how can this claim be independently verified (other than emailing SnapNames!)?
Would appreciate any pointers from fellow WHT members.
Thanks!

I suppose that Snapnames want let you konw the idenity of the snapback holder, it would break their privacy policy

Hi Angel78
Agreed. In the absence of any independent means, presumably the SnapBack holder himself would have to obtain some form of "proof" from SnapNames to verify his claim. Does this sound plausible?
Thanks.

I don't know how to find this out other than contating SnapNames - assuming you have a valid reason to know, they will probably confirm or deny your pre-knowledge of this data, but I suspect they would not simply tell you.
There are many others here more experienced in this area than I am however.
Hostjet or SafeSys may be able to tell us.

host1515,
there is absolutely no way to find out who has a snapback subscription on a particular name.
Below is a quote directly from their website.
No, we do not reveal any information about SnapBack™ subscription holders. Of course, anyone can see whether or not a SnapBack™ subscription has been purchased by searching for the domain name on the SnapNames web site - but will not be able to see who that person is.
