View Full Version : Any NoMonthlyFees reseller here ?
I'm current their customer. The response time and support is good.
I'm considering to sign up with their reseller account.
Any comment or suggestions about NoMonthlyFees?
Please help share your experience here or PM me.
Thank you.
intercraze 05-15-2002, 11:07 PM Looks very expensive. Yeah you might not have to pay any monthly fee's but your annual cost is expensive. Why not look at a reseller plan from mchost.com or netacore.com . Both these companies look to be the same. Although Netacore.com you get more for your dollar. And the service seems to be good. Id go with them, not to sure about NoMonthlyFees.com . They are very expensive.
And if you are doing domain registration with them, I would stop and start registering your domains through thenic.com . Tell me what you think.

Thanks for all of your posts.
I know that $70 annual fee is rather expensive.
But I think their support is the advantage, especially:
=> RedSupport.com
Provide to every reseller as anonymously support all resellers' client.
I like that idea!.
Because you may know that "customer support" is the major issue in web hosting business. I don't have enough time to answer and support all tickets from client. I would like to use most time to market and promote the web hosting business.
To outsource the support is rather expensive too.
Do "netacore" have an anonymous support to their resellers' client? or What hosting company have?
netacore 05-16-2002, 12:01 AM We are only in contact with the reseller .. not the clients of the reseller.
axx2k 03-31-2003, 02:05 PM NoMonthlyFees.com Support is nothing to rave about. In fact, I think their support is very poor. They still have one link up to an old page that only has some faq's and crappy help links. Their newer main helpdesk is a nice _looking_ helpdesk script, but the programmer who made it didn't stack the headers right for the mail-outs, so some mailservers translate it as plain text and you get an email full of html tags (not all servers, but some, like my ISP's mail server). Most of their client admin suite is either cPanel (a great choice), or real simple forms and links that only a pro-geek will know right offhand.
Their actual support is no different. I have on more than one occasion have had my site go down, opened a ticket and told them so, only to get a reply "we checked and everything is working fine here"... While I have already checked from 3 locations worldwide, I would have to force the issue before they would actually check more thoroughly than browse to my site from their PC. ....and even then it takes "between 48-72 hours" for them to do ANYTHING.
Another note about these jokers, they seem to have a new policy (just new to me within days), that the php mailer can only mail to domains on the same server as the mailing domain. Nothing leaves the box. I was told it's "to prevent spam". Got Spammers? Get rid of them! don't hamper the rest of the client base!
The final kicker? Try to transfer a domain OUT of Nomonthlyfees.com... Ready for it?? it takes them 90 days.
that's right, 25% of the registration fee you pay them goes towards transferring it out of their accounts, should you need to. An excellent way to trap a customer, isnt it?
I used to have 3 accounts with this company, and I am currently letting my last one expire before I pull that domain as well. when I signed up, their "yearly fee" was only $35... and within 2 years got doubled. Imagine what will happen in another year or so?
NoMoreNoMonthlyFees for me!

any comment on FDCServers.net ?
their resellers?
I am with NomonthlyFees, and never had any major problems. I also transfered a few domains from them and never had a problem either. Went very smoothly. There support, and servers were fine. Had one issue with one of there support people before, but I never see that person answering there tickets anymore.
As for FDC Servers
I would stay away from them. Go to there forum on there site. Its a bunch of pissed off ppl. Can;t blame them though
rusko 04-01-2003, 04:41 AM where are the nomonthlyfees reseller accounts? not that im interested in one (see sig), but the business model is interesting =]
paul
I do not think they offer them any more.
The offer dedicated servers now. Its expensive to.
Chao, if your interested in NoMonthlyfees reseller, let me know.
bisboxer 04-01-2003, 09:32 AM My experiences with nomonthlyfees have not been pleasant. Troubles have been ongoing. Too numerous to mention. The support is enough to drive a sane person absolutely crazy. One or two word responses that do NOT answer the questions asked. The same questions must be asked repeatedly, making you wonder if anyone there knows how to read. I have never been rude or abusive with tech support but man it sure has been tempting!!
I have never had a problem solved in less than a full day and a half and that was fast for them!!
Recently I asked them to cancel one of the domains in one of my accounts....guess what they did....the cancelled the whole account. Just blew away 5 domains. Took 2 days to get them to fix it and took more time for me to get things back to normal.....(I do keep backups) NomonthlyFees charges a fee to do backups.
As for cost......it is a joke. I can't believe I fell for this. When I signed up for my first account 3 years ago (yeah I stupidly bought more) it was $200 and no monthly fees......then it was $35 yearly maintainence, and now it is $70 yearly mainainence.
To add domains to your account you must pay $50. for each additional domain name. At first it was a one time charge, now there is $70 yearly maintainence charge for each domain in your account. Also, there is a fee to set up restricted ftp access to each of the domain names added.......and it goes on and on with hidden costs.
I now have an actual reseller account with a good host and have been slowly moving accounts over as my nomonthlyfees accounts come up for 'renewal'. Soon I will be rid of them, and will never again recommend them to anyone.
When I figure out what I have paid out in the last 3 years in hosting, as opposed to what I am now paying, I can't believe I have been so stupid.
There are some great hosting companies that frequent WHT. Why anyone would fall into the nomonthlyfees trap the way I did is a mystery to me when there are so many reputable hosts available.
Keep in mind that all the above fees are in US dollars and I am Canadian so the fees are approx. 1 & 1/2 times as much in Canadian $$$$
I am suprised. I never had any problems like that.
I still pay the annual fee of $35 on my 200MB accounts, and only pay $70 on my 600MB accounts. Thats it. I never had any additional fees to pay either.
bisboxer 04-01-2003, 10:39 AM After reading APX response I am even more annoyed!!! Why am I charged the $70 fee on 200mb account and he is charged only $35?? I am charged $70 maintainence on all 3 of my accounts (1 200 mb 2 500mb accounts) and on each of the domains that are within these accounts. Dealing with NMF support is a frustrating experience. I don't need the hassles.
I can't wait to get the rest of my accounts outta there!!! I will take the money spent as a lesson well learned.....you get what you pay for!!!
They are charging you $70 for a 200MB account?
They shouldnt, unless you had the account upgrade to the 500 or 600MB account. I didnt upgrade mine, so that are still $35/yr
You should talk to them about that robert@mympc.com is the sales guy there.
axx2k 04-01-2003, 01:22 PM I was being charged $35 too, and on renewal they gave me the choice of upgrading to the "new v2.0" (500+MB package). However later on, when I had to renew another domain, I had no choice. Consistency is nice in ANY business....
I renewed a domain and had no problems
I still had 6 200MB accounts and paying only $35/yr for them.
I only have 1 v3.0 account and that one im paying $70.
redcat 05-13-2003, 03:20 PM I'm a reseller with NoMonthlyFees for 2 years - I like others on the thread are moving my accounts as they expire. The price at first was great value, the support was great and friendly.
About a year ago there seemed to be a chage of attitude to the customers. It came obvious when they changed all the accounts to new servers. They made life very difficult for resellers like myself. I had customers with parked domains on their accounts, nomonthlyfees charges me to add these parked domains on the new servers. The origional accounts had designated IP address included these were taken away, I can have them back for $100 per year.
On a few ocasions I contacted the staff about the disruption they caused with their move, I was basically told to take it or leave, they were really bitchie.
Origionally I had a master control panel, thats gone now also I have no control over my resold accounts.
The most worrying thing of all is that if one payment for one of my 30 plus accounts expires unknowing to me - they NOMONTHLY FEES will suspend all of my accounts until I pay a surcharge to reactivate the accounts.

I was only made aware of these terms more than 12 months after I joined up.
While NoMonthlyFees looks very attractive, with their fancy website and sales talk - the proof is in the eating.
I've been there and I wouldn't recommend NoMonthlyFees to any resellers looking for hosting.
kylec 05-13-2003, 04:42 PM i have a V1.0 account with them (no yearly fee). i dont use them anymore, i have long since moved to a reseller account so i could host all my domains under one account.

I wouldn't recommend NoMonthlyFees to anyone! I left them in July last year after they demonstrated their lack of support and respect for their customers.
I was on their 200MB for $35 a year plan and about a month before my annual fee was up for renewal I received an email from them claiming that they had an emergency and all accounts had to be moved to a new server immediately. They claimed it would take 72 hours to get everything up and running again. Yet well over 72 hours later I still could not access any part of my account.
When I finally could access it, I noticed that my control panel now stated that I had 500MB and not 200MB. I contacted support and after waiting a few days, finally got an answer that all accounts had been upgraded. Yet they seem to avoid answering my question on whether my annual fee was going to rise or not because of it.
Sure enough the following day, I received an email with the renewal invoice for $70! The fee had doubled. I fired off a polite complaint and asked for an explanation. In particular, I wanted to know why they were now advertising new accounts on their site for 600MB with an annual fee of $70, yet they expected me, a customer of 2 years, to pay the same price for 100MB less than a new customer.
Did I receive a reply? No. So I sent yet another email copying my original complaint in, requesting an immediate response. Almost a year later, I'm still waiting.
On top of all that drama, they were seriously lacking in communication with their customers and their support was terrible. My control panel was continuously being disabled for no apparent reason throughout my 2 years with them. It also took days before support tickets would be answered.
Now I find out that there customers that are still paying $35 for 200MB accounts. This just makes my blood boil. I never asked for an account upgrade, I hardly used 100MB, what was I going to do with 500? I was continuously ignored when seeking an explanation and retaining my business was obviously not worth an effort on their part. I most certainly would NOT recommend them to anyone.
Thank goodness for my current host who knows the meaning of support and communication!
