View Full Version : Netacore.com vs. mcHost.com
intercraze 05-15-2002, 12:06 AM I would like to hear the response of those of you out there, about the following companies, and which I should go with. I recently purchased an account from MChost.com everything is fine. But then I came across netacore.com and the price is cheaper and you get more. Whats the deal. Tell me what you think.
Netacore.com vs. mcHost.com
Thanks,
Christopher Kern
techid 05-15-2002, 12:57 AM I think you will like netacore.com better, I hear they have great uptime and give you more feature for the buck!
xirus 05-15-2002, 03:05 AM I'm with MCHost and they're just great. I think netacore has their servers managed by MCHost as well so you can't really go wrong with either of them.

I think you are correct on that, they have the same parent company it looks like. But I did notice a big difference, where MCHost took about a day or so to repsond to my emails to let me know that my account couldn't be created because of IP issues (which has been going on since May 2) Netacore.com setup my account in less than an hour and a friends account also in less than an hour. Now that is service!
acidHL 05-15-2002, 10:59 AM Never had any problems with MCHost - great guys.
Choppy 05-15-2002, 09:42 PM DO not compare on issues having to do with IP;s!
Ips are very hard to get these days!
For companies offering private label reselling Ips for name servers etc take time to get!
Its no fault of the company at all...
Sorry just wanted everyone to understand that.
:)
Kind regards,

This is too funny. MCHost and Netacore are the same thing. They setup accounts on the same servers. I have two accounts, one with Netacore and one with MCHost both are on the same server. So brings me back to my post above, how could one side have IP issues and the other not? They share everything. But Once again, with Netacore, you get more for the buck!!

Completely different companies.
So brings me back to my post above, how could one side have IP issues and the other not?
Simple. IPs have to be justified and requested from ARIN.net - while one hosting company may have used up all the IPs and not received new ones yet, the other company may still have IPs left. You need to have 80% of the IPs used before you are able to request more so if we receive a large amount of signups ie. 40+/day - we'll have 80 IPs used up immediately. Before requesting more C blocks, the previous blocks need to be justified first in written and it usually takes 1-2 days to get another C block.
Take a look at:
http://www.arin.net/policy/ipv4.html#additional
techid 05-15-2002, 11:22 PM hmm, so odd how you share the same servers, share the same Service Provider, share the same IP address ranges.
xirus 05-15-2002, 11:25 PM Can you login at http://servername.dns-core.com:2086 ? Your on a netacore dedicated server. Can you login at http://servername.dnsvault.com:2086 ? Then you're with MCHost. Replace servername with the servers name you are on and find out. There are many people (including myself :D) who resell the MCHost reseller plans. But reselling and offering more bandwidth and space is a bit risky.
intercraze 05-15-2002, 11:53 PM So explain this, the websites and welcome emails are all the same. Also check this out
http://netacore.com/tour/
http://mchost.com/network/tour/
Does this look familar? Explain this?
techid 05-15-2002, 11:53 PM Dont mind this... someone beat me to the above post
either a really bad rip , or the same exact company .

Are you pointing out the seattle.dnsvault.com, where XIRUS said earlier that ***.dnsvault.com is MCHost and ***.seattle.dns-core.com is Netacore?
intercraze 05-16-2002, 12:16 AM So what is the difference? Everything seems the exact same. Except the prices. They both use the same servers, so the speed is the same. So why not convert all mchost.com customers to netacore.com and save them all money and they get more for there buck.

Explain this?
MCHost clients, both shared and dedicated, are allowed to use/modify the network tour, network information and AUP. Some clients resell our plans, some have their own resellers on their own dedicated servers with us. :)
This thread kind of explains the situation: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=49585
All of our servers (owned and operated by us) are listed here: http://status.mchost.com
netacore 05-16-2002, 12:36 AM I'd like to clarify a few things:
Netacore, Inc. and MCHost are two entirely seperately owned companies.
When we originally signed up with MCHost, we examined their services with one of their packages.
During that time, we signed up several clients on their seattle.dnsvault.com machine
We found the service to be acceptable and decided that we would utilize MCHost to provide several of our dns-core dedicated machines
Rather than risk downtime by transfering ips and force our clients to update dns information, we decided not to transfer the clients on seattle.dnsvault.com to our new machines.
intercraze 05-16-2002, 12:47 AM How is this possible, that you charge cheaper than mchost.com and use there facilities. I think its great.
Let me know...
netacore 05-16-2002, 12:51 AM I really don't want this to turn into a public battle between 'MCHost and Netacore'
Feel free to stike up a conversation with me on aim sn: netacore01

Good call. I didn't like the direction this thread was heading in.
intercraze 05-16-2002, 01:12 AM Thank you for all your posts. Very informative and after many views, and posts the answers come out. I never ment for it to get to this point. I just wanted to know what people thought about netacore.com :) LOL
It's simple... Netacore.com :) I am currently with them, love there setup and can't complain. Sure is more for your buck...
Let's stop with the postings on this topic. How about we start a new one.
Thanks again to all.
