Hi!
Can someone point me a link to the best value server Dell has to offer? I really don't know what to look for.
Thanks!

In my opinion, it's the Dell 1650. You get a lot for your money:

It depends on what you are looking for.

Dell 350 = single processor IDE so is the cheapest
Dell 1650 = dual processor capable scsi

2550's are also nice if colo space isn't an issue. They can be had for slightly less than a 1650 of similar specs.

On the other hand 1650's take less space and use less power.

Actually, I think the 2550 is more expensive for the same spec'ed server:

Both with 1.3 Ghz processors, 256 MB RAM, 18 GB SCSI drives, 3 yr Bronze support, No OS

Dell 1650 - $1,498.00 (list price)

Dell 2550 - $1,800.00 (list price)

Odd, I spec'd em with three 36GB drives, RAID 5 and the 2550 came out about $400 less. May have been a special that was running at the time or something, Dell always has specials.

:) Yes they do! We order a lot of 2550s and 1550s (now 1650s) and the 1550s are always cheaper when we spec them out.

RackMy.com, out of interest do you buy your hard drives, ram and processors from Dell or seperatly. The base server seems very well priced but the extra processors eta all a complete rip off.

Everything but memory is bought through Dell. We get a pretty nice deal on hardware and a small price break on servers.

Maybe you should buy them off rackmy since they get volume discounts so it might even be cheaper from them =P
