Thanks dnid 05-14-2002, 07:03 AM The RaQ 550 is not available yet: The new server appliance starts at $1,699.00 and will be available in June through www.sun.com/sunstore as well as from most major e-tailers and an extensive network of Sun resellers. Trade-in programs are available for those currently using Sun or other companies' server appliances. Mefod 05-14-2002, 07:42 AM what features does the 550 appliance have that the raq3 + 4 do not? nobody has posted any differences yet Superior-IS 05-14-2002, 07:53 AM Check: http://www.sun.com/hardware/serverappliances/raq550/index.html and: http://www.sun.com/hardware/serverappliances/raq550/demo.html in short: - you can add more memory (to 2 GB) - 1 of 1.2 ghz processor - xtr style webinterface - mysql pre-install'd - port sentry and ssh(2) pre-installed (!) - .jsp pages supported dutchie 05-14-2002, 08:21 AM Looks great, but who wants to be the first to try them ? I bought a raq3i for 3K 2 years ago. With the new gui which I like allot. I consider it pretty good since you can host tons of domains. Plesk with 30 domains already cost $199 ClusterMania 05-29-2002, 02:54 AM Originally posted by ClusterMania They price turned me away from them for a while. I bought a raq3i for 3K 2 years ago. Looks like major improvements. Hope they are more rock solid now. GO Sun Micro GO!!! =P FiberOptic 05-29-2002, 09:42 AM Cobalt + WHT = ultimate stability |
