over last week, i have try to transfer two domains from ev1 to namecheap. i have check the status like every other day and see if there is any problem. namecheap system didn't show any problem or whatsoever but both domains transfer failed. i have unlock the domains before transfering so i know that is not the problem.

well, it turn out that i didn't authorized the transfer when namecheap send out email however, my ev1 contact was my gmail and i check my gmail everyday 'cause i use it as my contact email and use it daily.

i never see any email from namecheap asking for authoriaztion or whatever, it didn't even show up as spam under gmail.

Can the system have failed? that it never send out email, how come they don't update the status if no authoriaztion was received at least when i log into namecheap to check i can see what the problem is and not after they send me email and telling me it failed. weird part is i got email telling me transfer fail but no email about authorzing transfer.

oh well, the domains is cutting close to expire so i've renew it with ev1 and ask namecheap to refund back to my CC.

i'll like to know if this ever happened to you that transfer didn't go thur so i will know i'm not the only one with the problem.

It did fail once for me, the reason for me was due to domain being locked. I had a domain with another register, I forgot to ask them to unlock my domain name. So I had to redo the process and it worked fine the second time.

Email is not infallable. Did you check your junk mailbox? Try processing the transfer again?

Yes, he did check his junkmail folder.
It is weird you did everthing right but the transfer didn't got through. It could be the domains were too close to their expiry date. But even that, as heard from actual experiences, shouldn't be a problem.

Even though I have several domains at NameCheap, I've never transferred any domains to NameCheap, so I cannot explain why or if their system updates.

I have been transferring a lot of domains to another registrar (Name.com) to take advantage of their transfer promotion and because I actually like some of their support people.

Anyway... even though I recommend them, I did have several transfers fail because I did not get the verification emails just like you describe. After that, I got a little more careful about putting down the verification emails on my Calendar to make sure that I get them in a timely manner.

On the ones I did miss, they were so close to the expiration dates  , that I went and renewed them with their current registrar and then Name.com refunded my money.

So basically, if I understand you correctly, the same thing has happened to me with a different registrar several times.

I guess that's why I now give myself a month to transfer domain names. ;)
