Hey, i run 3 resellers, and now 1 of them are broken.. It's out of space in the (usr/ and the /var/ folders, and i dont have access to neither of them.
I added a domainname to the mainreseller account, and that was a terrible mistake because when i try to remove it, it says:

The /usr, /, or /var partition on this server is running out of disk space.

That's when i remove it as a addon domain the WHM, and when i try to add it to my other reseller (which the domain is pointed to) i get this errormessage:

domainname.org is owned by another user.

My domains is stuck in the shadows! Please help me out!

if you are just a reseller, I guess you dont have access to server. You should contact with your provider to resolve "out of space" issue first

I have already tried to do that! But they never reply me when i send them emails! My domainname is stuck inside a reseller i barely can control! I don't care about the reseller or what happends to it, i just want my domainname released from it!

Don't worry, its 'released' when you change the DNS. :)

I'm sorry to tell, but no.. It's not :( I have changed it around 4 times now, but when i add it to another reseller with different DNS it says "domainname.org is owned by another user" eventhough the domain is not configured on that reseller!

It seems you have the other reseller accounts on the same server?

That can't be it... They are on different DNS... This is getting annoying :S

Yeah, well the thing is that i got 3 resellers from 3 different companies, and 1 of them kinda "forgot me" lol... They don't know the reseller is still active, and i never pay for it... It's just there... And it's ****ed up big time! And my domain is stuck inside it, and won't be released! ARGH! I registered the domain at godaddy.com, is it possible to "reboot" the domain or something? So it's not connected with any hosts? I have tried to change the dns of course, but that dont work...

Do a traceroute on the name servers at http://www.dnsstuff.com/ to see if your hosting companies are all on the same server.

but when i add it to another reseller with different DNS it says "domainname.org is owned by another user" eventhough the domain is not configured on that reseller!Discuss this with the host. Something strange is happening there.

It sounds to me like your provider added your domain to your account, but left it owned to "root", instead of checking the box for the domain to be owned by the reseller.

Contact your provider and tell them to go in to the management panel and check the box so you are the owner of this domain. This will allow you to manage the domain as you see fit.

Aparently you have no idea what your saying..

If it was owned by root = shared account. It doesnt 'lock' the domain into a status like described by the OP. I think he is just REALLY confused.

Actually, it gives the exact error message he described. If a reseller attempts to add a domain to the system that does not belong to them and is already in place on the server (ie: owned by the top level user "root") then it will say, word for word what the topic starter described.

Might I suggest you offer the solution to the topic starter, by the way? You seem to know enough to tell me I don't know what I am talking about when I gave my opinion. And FYI: root is not a shared account. It is the top level user in cPanel, and is not shared in any way, shape or form.
