There's really so much info on crons on the net. I wouldn't contact my hoster for such a small thing as crons :D

The hoster suspended the site, and never contacted via e-mail as to why it was suspended... so i e-mailed yesterday and still nothing.. plus i noticed there LIVE CONTACT logo has gone, where i spoke to Mike.

Unless I'm blind where is the live chat cause i'd love to chat with him again about this

Because mike helped on the online chat , cause when i first joined i couldnt even log into the FTP cause it said 3 MAX. And mike solve the problem, but why has the live chat option disappeared from the site? And CZ is suspended with no responce?

Here is the email recieved, which states that they are not the owner of the site in question.

"Just e-mailing on behalf of a friend who runs the website, why has the site been suspended? Thanks very much in advance and sorry for the trouble caused. We do want to try to get to the root of the problem asap."

Sorry, but we do not disclose information on request about our clients.

The site is running proxy's , nph-redirection scripts, abusable formmail spam scripts, and other stuff, which is not tolerated on our network.

Thank you for noble attempt to degrade our service.

Take a few minutes away from selling new accounts to cancel my account and refund this months fee. I contacted you five days ago, and ordered the account cancelled. I told you that there is nothing wrong with your service, I just dont need an non-whm account. Instead, you ignored me and today I see that you charged my card again.

Paypal has been contacted. You instructed Paypal to deduct this abount - not me.

Let me set the record straight - I have made NO requests of or from you. I have never used this account. I am upset at your lack of responsiveness. You can keep the 3 bucks! You obviously need it more than I.

No, When you signed up you created a subscription, you simply log into paypal, find the subscription link and hit cancel. We don't instruct anything or have the ability to charge, only invoice.

No offence but you didn't really make that clear in your post about threats. Also, if the above is only thing he wrote than I don't see that as "threats". As a host you would simply ask for clarification what the guy wants.

Agree the caps and excessive exclamations don't help but I'd hardly call that as making threats.

Anyways, i'm outta here. You two can deal with your own issues :D I have too many of my own :D

well I signed up and my cpanel was available within 2 hours. I can see that the domain I registered is showing now as registered although it will obviously still take a little longer for things to propagate.

When I joined and paid through paypal - the fact that paypal would continue to bill me and I would need to go into my account with paypal and switch the payment off to stop the automatic charging was made very clear.

Ummm - I don't know how good ehosts is or isn't as yet... but I think some of you guys are over reacting and giving carthost a pretty hard time for no real reason.

I felt I had to say something because UK-guy you've clearly never been in business, it is very threatening when someone who hasn't understood something - comes onto a public place and bad mouths your business. It will put a lot of people off and by coming and making the accusation the threat is "fix this or I am going to bad mouth your companies reputation everywhere I can" - I have been disappointed not to be able to find more useful info as a noobie on where to host - it's really hard sometimes to figure out what is a good deal and what's a con job and it doesn't help if everyone who wants to throw their toys out the cot just bags everyone - as it makes it hard to distinguish reasonable deals from sharks.

I signed up two days ago. Got my account pretty quickly. I needed to switch servers, and I requested that a backup be done MANY times, and yet a backup has not been done.

I need my site back up... when is my backup process going to be done? Why is the online chat never working?

Thanks.

MeamRussian, you uploaded a corrupt tarball, which you were told to replace. by the tech on duty. I have no clue what you mean by switching servers or backups, considering you have no files at the time, or completed our request which you acknowledged and said you would do, we can not continue with your setup.

Right... I am aware. Saturday night I uploaded the the correct file again, and sent an e-mail (because the chat wasn't on) for the backup to be done. And in addition to that, the hosting is now down (or running VERY slowly?).

Now that the file is up there, will you put the hosting back up and restore mshangout?

Thank you.

Moderators please do your job, i believe some warnings, bans and removals of posts are in order hereGiven the amount of responses, there seems to be a pattern emerging.

I'd suggest addressing your client's concerns.

3 clients out of 400, complaining over what? refunds when they thought they were getting a reseller account, why don't you seperate the forum, so they get what they are looking for. or when they can't get a signup email because of their spam filters and isp filters. oh i see you did not like my other post, so you come and break the rules yourself?

If this thread resembles something that was pieced together from a different thread, it's because it is.

Feedback is important. But it's not suited for an advertising forums thread. So, it's been split and moved out here.

Do you have ANY evidence to back that up? All your posts through this thread (even before it was split) on WHT have been rude and unprofessional, to say the least. Why not satisfy your customers instead of trying to pass the blame?

Btw. Moderators on WHT are here voluntarily, they are not paid. So it would be nice if you gave them some respect instead of yelling and asking them to 'do their job'.

Have a nice day; I know I will seeing that you are temporarily banned.

FYI I've heard that statement before too.

hosts can't 'pull' money from your paypal accounts. you approve a subscription and if you cancel service it's really your responsibility to cancel the subscription too. It's very easy to do. just click on one of the transactions for it, and click 'cancel'. it's either on that first page, or the details of the transaction.

I'm not saying anything about the host because I have no idea. I'm just clarifying the subscription misconception.

Ya plus I emailed ehosts with an apology regarding my posts on here, as he tried to say I was suspended because of proxys and spam scripts.

I kindly replied to him direct by e-mail that the VBulletin forum that we were running did use crons, in which caused the server to output to get RSS feeds and gameserver information for counter-strike and some other games. And also in the e-mail I admited that I wasnt the person uploading the files so if there was by any chance (And i dont believe there where) proxy cgi files or anything like that, then I would like the filename, and date, time it was uploaded.

Still I've asked for a refund, and the e-mail support@ehosts.org hasnt replied in two days.

I have now sent my request to all 4 e-mails on there contacts page, I really hope I can get some responce.

And just for the record theres definatly no reply in my spam box... Plus why is this guy threatening legal action? not that it scares me it just sounds like a stupid responce to peoples concerns?

I'm not saying I'm always right, thats why I did a very long e-mail to him explaining about how the crons work with RSS grab feeds and the gameserver script, if I am wrong I'll always stick my hands up and take the blame. I just cant help feeling someones just took my money and ran tho :(

But as I say I'm hoping to get this sorted out quickly as possible and in a professional manner.

Professional manner? Has this one-man business act or sound professional to date? Basically, he has tried to scam you out of your hard-earnt cash and now he has even been banned from this forum - which isn't an easy feat. If I was in your position, I would start looking for a new, reliable web host.

Don't worry, I highly doubt he will take legal action because he has absolutely no case against you or anyone. He sounds and acts like an immature 8 year old who believes that threats of sueing will get you some where in this industry.

Of course I wish you the best of luck and hope you get your money back... but start looking for a new web host.

LOL i think i have just realised where this has come from, on my paypal it still has the business url as CZ-Hosting.com which he must of recieved when I made my payment. When I had that URL it was about 2 years ago and unfortunatly fell through as I couldnt compete with todays prices of hosting with a dedicated server so I never renewed it. Now it redirects to some polish or czech republic site and if he would bother to do a check on it he can clearly see i'm not the owner of that domain anymore.

Thanks to peoples advised I've made sure my subscription is cancelled and now in talks with a new host which should be sorted out today (cross fingers).

I should be pea'ed off but i'm actually finding the whole situation (especially now i know what he ment by his legal threat) quite amusing :), some part of me wants that legal threat to come through my front door just so he can pay expensive legal fees for something so stupid as he hasnt bother to research his data from his "investigation" hehehe, sometimes sounds like i'm being tracked down by the fbi :)

And one final note... Still no e-mail recieved from them at all, and to be honest I dont believe I'll ever get a reply from them at all, which i'm very disappointed because I have been coming on to webhostingtalk for sometime by just viewing the offers etc. But never in my life had to register to post about a serious let down in hosting that was promoted by this forum as a sticky. I'm not saying there a bad company or anything, just in my own personal case I think I have been treated very badly.

So off to a new host.. I hope I dont have to post messages like this forum about hosts again, I dont think I have ever typed so much on a forum before :)

Thanks for all you're help to the ppl that advised in this thread.

whatever

'Sticky' threads should not be considered an endorsement from WHT or the community, it's simply a paid advertisement managed by Inet Interactive.

Thought I'd pop back on and say sorry, I was wrong to defend ehosts. Whilst I did get into my cpanel quickly and my domain eventually and I do still think it's clear you have to cancel your paypal automatic payment. I have since had a chance to deal with these guys and the support is terrible, they are very unprofessional and I would suggest steering clear, as they're not worth the trouble. A lot of things within cpanel are not set up correctly and don't work as they should. You get what you pay for and this is cheap and what you get is peanuts.
