How come it says ttyp0?

but when i run

ssh -l admin localhost

admin's tty is pts/1

when i do ssh -l root localhost

i get ttyp1

Anyone know why it has ttyp*

How can i get it to be pts/

"/dev/pty are the stream heads for any serial ports you might have in the system and /dev/pts/* are the stream heads for any networked connections that you might have that need to present a terminal type interface to the O/S at large and again are really just stream heads." pttys are "psuedo" tty's.
