Hello, im a newbie to this site as well as websites. I have designed my website in dreamweaver, got it all set up etc. Now i think i have picked a good webhoster, cyberpixels, but my main questions are, what exactly does a newbie need to know to set up this site on the server? i guess....more so, i need a run down of what i need, and what i dont need. Site will have flash and a forum (know any good free forums other than ezboard?) Thanks for your help!!! and look for Z400central.com soon :):homer:

Hello there. :-)

Your main page should be saved as index.htm or index.html and uploaded to your public directory (usually this would be public_html).

As for forums, the best free one would be phpBB2 :)

Your host will like you for looking into phpBB2 (http://phpbb.sourceforge.net/phpBB2).

Yes i would also highly suggest phpbb2 as it seems to be the least resource intensive on the server and that is why it is our personal favorite. If your not sure how to set it up alot of hosts will help you in this process. also it is a huge improvment over ezboard. well best of luck .

Cyberpixels will install phpBB2 for you if you put in a support ticket or post a request in their forums for it.

It is a really good board, though--it works well and the default template is easy on the eyes.

It's a big improvement over the pop-up ads over at ezboard, in any case. :)
