Looking in to hosting shell account.

Looking for script to automate the process (creation, setting of restriction, etc etc)

Something that tied in Modernbill and/or Cpanel would be nice.
But please list anything you know.

Cheers.

RE: the replier's username and account status, wow.

I say go for it, there are many shared hosting company, many of which are utter you-know-what. Maybe you can get a good shell system running, sell quality shell accounts, and possibly sell the script/automation software if you make such.

Good luck!

Well, it is not cPanel/Modernbill, but using virtualmin and agilebill should be able to get you what you are looking for. You would probably have to jump through a hoop or two to get thing setup initially, but you could probably get away with either a minimum of custom coding or none at all. You would probably want the pro version (as mail users are probably what you would want here).

Not related (directly) to your request, but you may want to take a look at the book "Hardening Linux". Its a nice one stop reference on locking things down, combine that with some ingenuity with webmin/virtualmin and you would have a pretty nice setup.
