I'm running H-Sphere 2.4.3 p8 on CentOS 3.5, which comes with MySQL 4.0.25. Is it safe to upgrade to MySQL 5 by just installing the binary from mysql.com independently of any H-sphere upgrade or bundle made available by psoft? I'm still prepping this server so it's not hosting live clients yet, but I'm going to import the sites and databases from another server that is currently MySQL 4.1.17.
