View Full Version : whats the difference between Dedicated & VST servers

i own a site but i know nothing about hosting and servers........all i know is my site eats up bandwidth.......and it looks like im about to reach my limit once again

could anyone tell me the difference in the 2 and witch would best fit me??

im not sure if it would help with me chosing but i use VBulletin

I am aassuming you mean VPS servers. The difference is that on a VPS server the resources as far as memory and cpu etc.. are semi shared, but you will have your operating system and root login just like you would on a fully dedicated server.

So you can install software, run mulitple websites etc.., you will have control over things much as you would on a dedicated server.
