View Full Version : Reselling host with Urchin Software?
Johnburk 03-15-2006, 04:13 PM Are there still quality hosts that have reseller plans with Urchin software of other software with such quality?
p.s I know Urchin has been bought by Google and I am hoping that there is another great tool like it, that gives detailed stats.
cartika-andrew 03-15-2006, 04:54 PM Hello Johnburk,
Even though google has purchased Urchin and is available for free (or at least was - it appears too much demand has brought that free service to a halt) - there are still many hosts offering it and its till available for purchase for commercial use. I cant speak for other solutions, however, hsphere integrates this into every domain (for hosts using it and or offering it). Meaning that every page within that domain is automatically tracked (including dynamic pages) - without the need to add code to every page.
Johnburk 03-15-2006, 06:53 PM 2 years ago I had a host that offerd Urchin and I loved it! I currently use awstats, but it is not the same. While Google does offer it. I do not want to wait months to get an invitation and do not want to depend on Google.
I understand the cost of Urchin are high for hosting providers. Yet I belive it is defenitly worth it. Specailly for a qaulity host. People like me are willing to pay more to get more.
I looked around, but could not find anyone offering it with cPanel/WHM :(

Yes, there are costs associated with it and I completely agree with you - it is worth it and people have proven to be willing to pay for it

Im not sure if it integrates with cpanel - you may want to look at hsphere providers if that control panel appeals to you...

They don't offer it anymore, so I won't mention their name.

There you go, learn something new everyday :)

Yes, so did I 2 years ago. But they went out of business :(
As for other panels. Both my customers and I are so used to cPanel that I don't think its a good thing to switch.

cPanel it is (when you will ever learn :D - joking...)
Well, since I have now learned that Urchin does indeed work with cPanel, I have gone ahead and done some research here for you and this is what I have found:
http://www.magrus.com/
http://www.*********.com/
http://www.schogini.com
http://www.bigbluehost.com/
I have ZERO experience of knowledge of any of these hosts, however, they fit the cpanel/urchin requirements.
Hope this helps
Johnburk 03-16-2006, 12:25 PM Thank you :D :D
ResellerZoom (http://resellerzoom.com/budget-reseller.shtml#) offers cPanel and Urchin (Urchin as add-on, though)...
mripguru 03-16-2006, 05:29 PM http://www.*********.com/
Hmmm.... that doesn't sound too good .
mripguru 03-16-2006, 05:41 PM (Urchin as add-on, though)
I don't know of anyone that offers it standard (as it is commercial license based).
Among the reseller-hosting providers, me either.
But there are providers that offers Urchin as a standard in shared accounts.

With reseller accounts you can host unlimited domains, each with unlimited Urchin statistics. They are $59/month for 1gb storage and 100gb bandwidth - it seems expensive but as servers are based in Australia it is to be expected.
