Hello,
I am starting a hosting company. I have been looking at reseller offers the whole time but just started thinking dedicated could be the best way to go for full control. My budget was around $100/mo. though for the reseller. Can I go dedicated for this price? What are my options?
Thank you!

Heck yes you can! Try looking at a couple of dedicated-server special offers or visiting some company's website. Try http://www.layeredtech.com, you can find servers less than $100 to fit in your budget.
If you can't find one you like in your budget, contact me.

First off, this should probably be in a different forum (Running a webhosting business?), but secondly, don't start off with a dedicated unless you have the money to fund it for at least 6-7 months I would say. Get a VPS if you want to sell resellers, or just a reseller if you're only in it for the shared customers.

Amen. We didn't even jump in until everyone gave a three year commitment to the cost of the hosting. Beyond that we see it all as a loss for startup but it's worth it just because we'd normally pay what we pay now for hosting on our own.

If you can spend an extra $9 you can get:
AMD Sempron 3000+
512MB RAM
cPanel/WHM/Fantastico
80GB HD.
1000GB Bandwidth
Management from a seperate company ($29)
Dedicated host: www.layeredtech.com
Management company: www.platinumservermanagement.com
I use LayeredTech, and PSM. Good reviews not only from me, but many others. I'd suggest doing a search on them.
This is only 1 host, but many others offer different prices.
I believe The Planet can do a better plan for about $140 a month, you'd have to see for yourself.
Have a look around, and you could even try going for VPS, which are significantly cheaper in price.

Here's a vote for Layered Tech.....reasonable prices with no overhead for managed services we don't need.
