I'm trying to figure out what the average size of a single webpage for the average user may be.
I read 20 KB but I have a client with a dbz fanclub site with pages upward of 100kb
What are your/your clients average page sizes?

Well the real average is something that will be open to discussion but from a design point of view, general opinion says you should aim between 30-50k for index pages, and less than that (20k or so) for incidental pages.
Less dynamic sites should go for smaller amounts of course. Page length should usually not exceed three window heights.
As with every rule there's always exceptions naturally.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that 40k was the average these days... I'll try and find my source on that

I've heard that pages should be no more than 30K. That seems right to me. This is important, otherwise the page can take too long to load, and your potential viewer/customer backs out. Remember, the web is not TV, so don't make your pages graphic intensive like you see on TV.
As an aside, I'd also suggest not to use any font size less than 2 on your webpages. 'course you don't want to use size 7 either and have everything look like a school kid did it. There are many of us with presbyopia who don't change our bifocals every year. I don't know how many websites I go to where I cannot even read the navigation buttons because they are so small. :bawling:

Thnx all,
I am going to figure aprox. 40kb per page.
I like to heve a bit of play here for the kids with dbz sites!
Better to plan to much than to little (imho).
