I have an e-commerce site and it's been up since November of last year with very little if any traffic. (yes, it's been submitted to all of the major search engines and yes, metatags and key words used) Similar sites appear to pop-up without a problem with just using keywords?

My question is could this be a hosting problem? I supposedly have 40MB of data storage space, 20MB of media storage space and 1 GB of data transfer space. Is this adequate for this type of website?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

google page rank of your site is 2.

I am not an expert on it, but the problem is not about hosting.

Problem may be on the keywords.

You may copy and paste your competitors into your html files.

Also, display all information in a picture file will lower your pagerank. So, avoid it.

Correct me if I wrong.

you have has nothing to do with your rankings in search engines.

Getting ranked high is a full time job, there are a few tricks to use to help your placement. But sad to say many search engines are going the pay route the more you pay the higher the ranking.

Yahoo is the biggie to get on and one of the hardest, you submit your site and then they have someone look at it and decide if it is good enough or uniqe enough to be included in their directory.
They also use google search results so if you can get ranked on google you stand a better chance of showing up in yahoo.

How many sites you are linked to and link back to you has a bearing on how high you are ranked. Their are plenty of promontional search services on the net that claim they will get you ranked but be careful most are scams.

Best thing to do is spend time reading the search engines themselves most have a FAQ that explains how they rank then take that info and improve your site.

But no it has nothing to do with your hosting.

Good luck it is a jungle out there when it comes to getting ranked on search engines.
