View Full Version : Cheap UK based reseller
BiGBoN 03-11-2006, 10:34 AM Just wondering if anyone could advise in a low cost hosting company that accept paypal.
I don't want a missive package just something to host a couple domains one for me and one for the wife, and one for my daughter later on. I do need @ least 1GB storage space and bandwidth well not sure really not verry much but may need more later on so around 10gb + would be a plus.
If anyonne could point me to some good company's would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
BB
markjut 03-11-2006, 10:38 AM You should be ok with a hosting account not a reseller one for that. You can get 1GB storage and 10GB bandwidth for relatively little, although remember cheap isn't always the best.
Good luck in finding hosting!
BiGBoN 03-11-2006, 10:42 AM I know cheap isn't allways the best but cheap is all I can afford :D
A reseller account is needed really as each person needs seperate access to their mysql/email/ and website for development purposes.
SimonJohnson 03-11-2006, 11:07 AM Have a look through the offers section, find a host you like the look of. Tell them what you need. Although all hosts have a range of packages, custom packages are usually not a problem.
BiGBoN 03-11-2006, 11:15 AM I have been looking and i'm looking right now :) I just found most of them where non UK and the ones that are UK based don't take paypal. :(
But i'm still looking :D
uksoftware 03-11-2006, 11:44 AM You can sign up for one here http://www.qualitywebspace.org.uk/hsignup.php?pt=&plan=ResellerBronze
This is a basic reseller account with 1000Meg disk space and 10,000 Meg bandwidth. Costs £8.97 a quater or £34.99 a year.
This is not intended for heavy usage though.
Paypal is accepted.

Nice offer and thanks however the site will be an active site pulling a large amount of users.
I will just have to stop being lazy and get bind working correctly on my server :)

[inx]Olly 03-11-2006, 03:19 PM I do hate the word 'cheap', sorry.
If you want a Uk web host, with UK servers, its OWN UK servers, then cheap probably aint going to cut it. :(

I do agree but when I say "cheap" I mean a small reseller package. I'm looking at around 10GBP per month which for reseller is cheap and normal isn't so cheap. I don't really need a reseller package but find that would be overall better for what I need.
SimonJohnson 03-11-2006, 07:01 PM How are you getting on? Have you made contact with any UK hosts?
I, Brian 03-12-2006, 08:49 AM www.clook.net are a very well respected UK host with very good pricing. You may find a reseller plans works best for you, even if just hosting one big site.
HostVisions 03-12-2006, 11:15 AM how much is your budget if i may ask? :)
i'm sure u'll find dozens of webhosts, but make sure u do a search here for their reviews!

Around 10 GBP 15-20 USD no more to start as the site will be pretty stagnent as they will be used mainly for development. ( Me and the wife are currently working on a new project but still want to keep our dedi machine for gaming so this limits our budget, and until I can start getting some money back in I can't afford any more ).
Anyway this isn't going to be a rush job i'm just waiting for some good hosting company's with feedback that I can checkout, and want to make the right decission.
Bloory 03-12-2006, 01:56 PM I'm going to make my usual recommendation for Sonnet Hosting (http://www.sonnethosting.com). Marie knows how to handle a server and is pretty handy with design which is where I've used her before.
I know she accepts Paypal for dsign and server maintenance, so I imagine she could accept it for hosting too.
Edit: I didn't notice the cheapest reseller is £12.99, apologies.
wsfeb 03-12-2006, 02:00 PM There are many companies in UK which are cheap but generally if the servers are here in UK the prices are more than servers hosted in America or canada.
Thanks
