Hello Everyone,

I am the owner of ViperHost, a small, but new hosting company and we are in need of a design. The current design we have is nice, but would feel that someone else could design a nicer, more fuctional design that we currently have so we are holding a design contest open to anyone that would like to attempt to make us a new design.

The design contest will last 2 weeks, while extensions may be applied should they be needed (please let me know if you do need an extension). Please do not ask for an extension for this contest if you do not plan on submitting a design.

Requirements

- Design needs to be cut up and placed into HTML form.
- Design must look nice in both high and low resolutions (mainly 800x600 & 1024x768).
- PSD's may be needed (in the case that we need to change a portion of the design).
- Design must be original, we do not want something that has already been sold
- Colors must match (we would like something with blue/grey/green(maybe)ect - although it is solely up to the designer).

(arrangments may be made for a longer term depending on the quality of the design)

I'd bet you'd get more entrants if you offered a cash prize... or something other than hosting. I myself have done 2 design for hosting deals... I have no need for hosting, and therefore no need to enter. I know others will feel the same way.

Being a semi-new hosting company, a monetary prize cannot be provided, hence the hosting offer to the winning designer. I do no doubt you that a monetary prize would attract a few more people, but at this time, only hosting can be provided.

As stated in the first post, if the design is of good quality, hosting may be extended beyond the initial 1 year standpoint.

For your sake I hope there are some entries. However, it seems lately there have been A LOT of "design contests". I think most designers probably have the hosting they need. Either by winning a previous contest or they are a host themselves.

Hello, I agree with what has been said, I'm a designer and every time I see a hosting 4 design I loose intrest. Most designers have hosting and most likely they paid in advance. If you would offer even less cash than the plan is worth you will get a better response.

As for the template, I knew that it was not up for sale any longer, I was only mentioning that I liked the way that template was designed and the basic layout of it.

However, I'm not interested in your offer. I mean, 550 MB is far too big for me, as well as the 30GB/month bandwidth. What if you change the Viper 550/for 1 year (valued $300 ) , into the Viper 150, for 3 years...
Tell me your thoughts on this please,

I would not have a problem with chaging the offer around for the winning designer. If the plan offerer is too large for their needs, then it can be altered :).

Your templates are nicely done, although a cash prize can not be offered at this time. At this time we are looking for a designer to offer a nice, clean template in exchange for hosting. In the future, should we require anything else done, we may offer cash (chances are we will stick with the designer of the winning template and give him/her a chance at any paid design work that may be needed).

thanks for the reply I might be intrested in the hosting, which template are you intrested in if any?

I am most interested in a design "like" that of what was mentioned a few posts back. I really like the design by brianstudios and would like to have a design for ViperHost like it (of course, not too similiar, keeping all originality to the design and with respect to the original author:)).

I like the way it has been laid out, the colors used, and the over all clean look to it.

Out of the templates you are showing, I would have to go with the below with the exception of the background (it is too dark)
