monday / tuesday / wednesday

We are going to be upgrading from OC3 to Oc12, I wish I can pinpoint times for outages "if any" but verizion, equinix, and all that is involved, it`s close to impossible to get all parties to agree on a single issue :)

New routers
New routes
addtional lines

Just to let people know way in advance.................

As always we will attempt to make the move seemless, as always Mr Murphy seems to cause issues.

So alert resellers / accounts also mention advoid paying for advertising those days.

Thanks

VDI

Yeah .. blame it all on Mr Murphy ... he is the root of all problems, indeed! :)

Again, congrats ... If only this happened 6 weeks ago :(

cheers,

Is this really the appropriate place to be notifying people. People get mad for customers coming on here and asking about downtime, but seems like to be fair, ISP's shouldnt be able to come on here and post upgrades, downtime, and uptime notices, thats what your community forum and mailing list is for.

Yes it is actully, because if i`m down people still post in here saying i`m down, so might as well say it before the slander starts.

That would be where your forums and emailing list come in. If your going to get mad and if other are going to get mad about people posting notices about why and whether thier host is down, then you shouldnt be able to post company upgrade news here either. I really couldnt care less, but if your isps are allowed to post company upgrade news on here, customers should be able to post downtime news here to without people jumping on their backs.

Apparently people will complain about absolutly anything here. He's giving advanced notice on an upgrade, its pretty obvious what the thread was about from the title - noone is being forced to click on it. There are a lot of people who frequent these forums who are not direct customers of VDI but would still like to be informed of such upgrades.

No doubt i for one was quite interested and glad he posted it as i wouldnt have heard about it otherwise, maybe people will stop complaining to me now about how bad vdi's network is :). But im simply trying to show how its strange how people get jumped on when they complain about downtime, but hosts are able to post about upgrades.

I for one would rather see posts about upgrades here but perhaps a forum should be devoted to such so people can equally post about downtimes without encountering the wrath of all the members on this board.

Seems only fair..

Just my 2 cents...

This is an upgrade, but an upgrade could include some downtime :)
