Is there a way to have a billing system that would charge you zero fee's?

It costs to process a credit card, then there is the risk involved. You will never find anyone doing this for you for free.

UH-Matt is right, you will never find an online service to offer this for free. Unless it is somehow advertiser supported, which hasn't been invented yet btw.

You might want to look into E-Gold their fees are lower than average and they don't allow chargebacks which could save you even more per year.

Definitely not going to find anything like that. Might as well bite the bullet and pay the small percentage fees.

How would this 'free credit card processing' company make money to stay in business?

There may be a select few reseller hosts that offer this with thier hosting however I don't know of any off hand. You should still be ok with paying the small fees implied on your account when accepting a transaction. I use Paypal and even though there is money to be lost in transfers it is all worked into my hosting plans so no money is ever lost on a transaction.

What I ment by it, is that the host pays this fee for you. Nothing more nothing less. It's very rare but I imagine it's out there.

Why would anyone offer something like that? I suppose if you paid a high enough monthly amount and they had certain restrictions on the number of clients per account level then they could say transactions are "free" but in reality they were factored into the monthly cost for the account.

Hosts generally have nothing to do with merchant accounts. Maybe if you found a host that was also a reseller for a merchant account provider...but then, again, why would they do that? They wouldn't make any money that way.

Wouldn't that make the host a 3rd party merchant which is against Visa/MC rules?

There ain't no free lunch. But hey if you find one clue me in, cause I pay a ton in fees each month.

Well... fees are how the merchant account make money. The amount is governed by risk, sure, but EVERYONE pays fees. Walmart pays fees. 1 & 1 pays fees. Everyone pays fees.

This is why it's commonly said to not get a credit card with a membership fee. They make QUITE ENOUGH off of the merchant every time you buy something. :)
