The european servers seem to be 100% cogent is that right? At least it goes via the AMS-iX to the cogent peer and then your box.

It mainly depends where you are connecting from to the server. From europe it is mainly Abovenet , from USA it is mainly Level 3 . Either way it is multi-homed.

When I ran traceroute tests from various physical location in US, 9 out of 10 times (approximately) its cogent. The other 1 time its L3.

It appears cogent is a temporary connection at the location as they are upgrading their connections and they will be moving back to their new backbone of Level 3 Shortly.

redbus amsterdam is fully cogent. UK telehouse is cogent and level3 but right now 95% its cogent.

Yup, now its 10 out ot 10 (approximately) level3. I guess the connection upgrade finished.

I have 2 questions.

1) Where is the 99$ deal as written in the title ? ;-)
2) Whats wrong with cogent ? ;-)
Is their network latency not so good etc. ?

Cogent is actually very good, but some data centers in the US are over selling it to the point that it is making it look bad when its actually pretty good ;-)
