Hello

I am working as a head of a software team and network admin of central office of a small bank with 350 branches.

I am working on an introductory research project of starting an ecommerce gateway for our bank (we want something like paysystems, clickbank, ccnow etc).

1- We will have our own cards (no Visa, MC, ...)
2- We will have our own marketing team working on Mraket issues.

The most important matter I want to decide now is that what can we do with our slow connections to the internet. Is it possible to start things with a dedicated server? Is it possible to manage things without online connections from server to the bank? (I doubt).

I was thinking that it could be possible if the server just saves transactions and we process them in bank after downloading them (and probably double checking them with customers for expensive transactions).

What is your opinion? Are we able to rely on the security which hosting company offers us? What can we do? And what kind of solution those mentioned companies (paysystems etc.) use?

Regards,
Mac
