OK, I didn't register everybodylovesramond.com, but I did register a domain name for a TV show that happens to have my first name in it.

If the TV production company comes to me and says, "You better give us the domain name or else..." what can I do? I registered the domain name after I head about the show, but before it ever aired. I really didn't have the intension of selling it to the TV channel, I just thought it was weird that it was still available, so I registered it, thinking I would use it to drive traffic to one of my sites. I don't plan on defrauding anyone or selling anything related to the show.

What are the legal implications of registering a domain name like one of the following:
everybodylovesramond.com
malcolminthemiddle.com
whataboutjoan.com
accordingtojim.com
gregthebunny.com
judgingamy.com
watchingellie.com
crossingjordan.com

Are cybersquatters generally hated in this forum?

First, its a generally unrewarding activity. Second, most of us respect making money through providing services and value more than trickery and cunning. And the names you have listed would in all probability get you immediate attention which would be accompanied by either sweet surrender or considerable expense on your part.

Plus, I'm sure your name isn't "Everybody Loves Raymond". It may be Raymond and if you registered that, then it wouldn't matter to the TV show. But, if you registered a name that had your name in it but also is the entire name of the TV show, then yes they could get the name. Especially since they will have much more expensive lawyers than you would and could afford a long battle if needed.

I registered it, thinking I would use it to drive traffic to one of my sites. I don't plan on defrauding anyone or selling anything related to the show. If you were thinking it would bring traffic to your site because people who would be looking for information about the TV show would find your site instead, many people would feel that your intent certainly was fraudulent.

Among those people, judging from past decisions, would be most ICANN UDRP arbitrators.
