OK, so I understand that TranXactGlobal IS DV2, and that eServers is a partner, and that they appear to work hand-in-glove and all that. They appear to offer approximately the same pricing, terms and even specials, when you compare apples to apples.

So is there anything someone should consider when choosing one or the other for an unmanaged dedicated? Is the support for one a bit better than the other? I like that eEservers has a forum, tho' not real active.

It seems that eEservers (UK-based) looks more to the EuroMarket? Is that a difference? SHould someone west of the Atlantic choose TranXAct and east of it, eEservers?

I would personally recommend eservers. They are the closest you will find to an inexpensive 'managed' server solution.

Sometimes getting setup may take awhile, but with these guys you are a customer for life.

I would not rate their support quite as 'fanatical' as rackspace, but for the pricing you would be a fool to expect such a high level of customer service.

I do appreciate the personal support received from this company, and no job is too big for them. If you crash your server, they will fix it, if you need an upgrade - no worries. They will even install the operating system of your choice.

To cut a long story short, eservers is the best solution. I have tried many, but eservers is the one im sticking with.

I live in California and chose eServers over tranxactglobal... mostly because they were running a special at the time... but theyve been good so far. Pretty responsive and knowledgable staff.

For something un managed i prefer Eservers.biz also...

The staff have been excellent and there contact points are also good...

I have used a few people in my time but these guys know whats going on.

They are targeting and international market because we are in Australia...

Kind regards

Only bad thing about eservers - $125 for a 'rebuild'

only need it when your server is crashed beyond remote repair.

in our case, /boot was never in fstab, so after updating our kernel and source, it would not mount the required partitions on boot

hard to say who's fault something like that is, but regardless we should not have assumed it was already done

The only thing that sucks about eservers is the fact that requesting additional IPs take ages... In fact, we have to wait a very long time.....
