I was wondering if someone could help me and let me know the advantage of RaQ servers over a white box server. I am new to server admin and would like to know which is the better way to go.
Thank you,
Mark

Greetings:
Advantages:
Ready out of the box
Good for a DNS server or email server
Can provide solid low-end web hosting for up to 200 clients on the box.
Generally lower price per month for hosting a server.
Disadvantages:
Any modifications on the operating system level which can be as simple as installing an application outside of their GUI results in a voided warranty.
Thank you.

Disadvantages
If something goes wrong, youre screwed. Well not screwed, but have study out in older Redhat Technology and get a nick in understanding how the cobalts work.
Not easily upgradable in both software hardware.
When I mean upgrading in hardware. All I can see is the ram. But then again, theres only 2 friggin slots on the board on the RAQ4 and it cannot handle more than 512 mb. Oh one more thing. I think they only run PC100.
You are buying a CPU which was released nearly 2 years ago.
A K6-2 450mhz. That is for Raq4. If you are going for the XTR, youre more updated.
There are some bugs in the OS's software which no one bothered to fix yet. ie. problem with parsereport.pl
Advantage
Plug and Go! Easy to setup. Reliable for static websites.
Can handle up to 200 websites, that is if each webpage had only couple pages. haha.... If you had 200 sites all parsing PHP...good luck.
