Hey Guys,

I have a web site at 1800horsesforsale.com and the logo I currently have is pretty good I think, but I believe I need a logo that could be jazzed up a little more with a more professional touch. The site color is brown as you see, but if I was able to get an incredible logo, I would be willing to change my site around a little to reflect the new logo.

I am willing to pay MINIMUM $50 for an outstanding logo. Wanted to have a good contest to view different designs, and say up front I will at least pay $50, which should keep people from having to worry about prices going down because of competition :)

Feel free to ad ".com" to the logo and/or "Classifieds" and if needed could also add something like "Place a 90 day full-page ad for $15, includes free photo" Feel free to re-word or whatever, most of you know what is best.

I know some of you can design really good logos pretty quick, so hopefully I will get to see some :)

Please post logos to board so all can see and help me judge.

Here's my entry, attached below.

$75 gets you full rights to the logo (all media - not just web), high resolution PSD files in various sizes and of course your URL at the top right part.

I also own the domain HORSING.COM if you are interested :D

Best regards,
Theo

I like, I like :)

That looks good, I like the three stars around the horse too. Just wish the horse had some type of tail or something, it just kinda looks bear.

Hopefully a few other people will post some logos, I am open to paying the $75 for a really good logo and would at least like to see a few different designs first to get an idea.

Thanks.

Obviously the logo can be customized - the horse can get the fuzziest tail you've ever seen - as long as you are interested in my services.

This was to display a small sample of my capabilities on a concept design. For anything past that, I must be commissioned for the project. It saves time and effort for both parties.

Best regards,
Theo

Hi!

Castlemelody Imagination Studio may come up with an entry to the contest. It depends on how much free time we have.

Good luck to everyone joining this contest.

OK, umm....it looks like timechange is in the lead........lol :)

I will wait and give Consul some time and see what he has. It looks like it will just be between you two, because I want it to be a WHT member anyway and both of you were nice enough to respond. Who knows, I might like both and buy them and use one for another site.

Timechange, how much are logos without print media rights? Just to use on the web site itself (for later references)? You can PM if you like.

Thanks for the compliments.

I mentioned that you receive full rights including all media, as opposed to leasing the logo/artwork. The price is the same - some artists do charge multiple times for a design, once for print, once for electronic rights etc.

I think I like the first one best, is there anyway I can see the first horse with a tail, I just don't know who you would add a tail to make it look real/original, maybe a designers secret :)

If you have decided on what design to use, I'd love to add a tail and a cowboy if needed :D

Hello.

We are submitting our first entry.

The second one has been conceptualized and will be submitted tomorrow.

Thanks.

Hey Consul,
That looks pretty cute. I might want to use that one for another site down the road. I am just looking for something maybe with a little more "serious" look. Who ever draws your art though has amazing talent! I eagerly await the second one to see it! Thank you for you time and effort.

Hi!

Well, that's the reason why we are having a second entry because the design artist figured out that the logo will not be suited for the 1800horsesforsale.com.

Anyway, it will come out tomorrow (hopefully) and indeed it will look serious. Thanks.

The artwork is drawn by the logo designer. He had it drawn in pencil first, then he used his sign pen for fine-tuning the drawing. After that, he scanned it and colored everything in photoshop.
Your appreciation to the artwork will certainly reach him.

We will be honored to offer you this first entry for your other website, please PM/email us for more details.

:)

Gosh consul,
I like that one a lot too! The only thing I would change was to see if you could bring the horses tail down just a little bit, where it didn't stick out so far. And maybe to add "Buy & Sell Horses" somewhere, but I don't know where to put it, maybe where the picture is, or maybe somewhere else........ah, decisions decisions :)

To be real honest, I can't decide which one I like best, they are both good, yours and timechanges. I have some more thinkin to do I guess.

MSSTATEBDFAN, as I mentioned before, I can tweak the logo per your exact requirements if you choose my sample design for your logo. Tweaking during a contest is counter-productive for both parties and also not my preferred method of business.

Artists present their portfolio and if necessary a draft of the intented artwork. Anything past that without a contract or clear assignment can lead to a dead-end, as various recent contests here in WHT have proven to be.

Consul, keep up the good work.

Just to let you guys know, I have had two people e-mail me requesting that I wait to make a decision so they can present a logo, I have asked them to please post here so you would know, they haven't yet, but hopefully should soon so you know they are for real WHT members.

A couple of logos for your consideration...

and

Slight variation of first logo (http://www.eyesontraffic.com/horses2.gif)

Good luck to all who have submitted... :)

Good job Vito, I like the 2nd one (the font of the 1st one is more 'epic' than legible) :D

Thanks, timechange. That's why I gave the second version. I wasn't sure about the font myself. :)

I am afraid I may have to agree with timechange. We have actually done the changes that you have requested but we are not posting it here.

We believe that you will have to decide first on which design you choose. Then, changes can be made after that.

Thanks for the well wishing timechange. Keep up the good work too!

:)

Guys, just wanted to keep you informed.....I am still waiting on a few others to submit their design. I can't believe this many people e-mailed me at the last minute, especially with the thread now 3 pages deep, I am surprized they even found me.

Yep, this contest is still going........I am waiting on at least one more design, hopefully two.

Just to let everyone know, I think so far I like Consul's and Sovereign's logos (the one with the running horse) the best. So as of right now, it is between those two.

MSSTATEBDFAN

Alright........its time to announce the winner!

After much consideration, hard consideration, I have decided to choose Sovereign's logo design. All of you gave some really good logos and it was a tough decision. I would like to personally thank you all for your hard work.

Timechange, no outsider won :) I told you I would pick a WHT member and I meant it. You know the hardest thing is picking a winner because you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings that submitted a logo because you know they took time out of their busy lives to help me. I sincerely hope all of you understand and know how much I appreicate you helping me design a logo!

I may call on some of you again to make a slight variation to the logos you already made and I will use them on a different site. I am thinking of starting a kids site and using Consul's 1st logo because it was so neat, the hand drawing of that is excellent, but I need to get some things rolling first.

Again, thank you all!!

Come on, that was the biggest load of contest horse-sh*t I have seen in a while :D

Sovereign registered on 5/13/02 exactly when the contest was at its high point and presumably after you contacted him in person. We were not born yesterday.

And honestly, the best design was Vito's.

Shame shame shame, another shilled contest here on WHT.

Excuse me?

I did not attack your design but rather the way the "contest" was conducted.

Unfortunately it's not the first time, but this time the horsing theme gave a new meaning to the word HS.

MSSTATEBDFAN

And just how was this contest "conducted" that made it so bad?

That I didn't pick your design over the others? Is that what you are so upset about? If you can't take not being chosen, then do not enter contest is the only thing I have to say.

You have conducted yourself in a very unprofessional manner. I made this contest to see multiple designs, and I happened to like Sovereign ideas overall the best. Don't sit their and :bawling: and  about it!

Apparently you are trying to insult our integrity and intelligence?

First, where did I complain that *my* design was not chosen?
All I said was that the "contest" was tainted by having an outsider - who contacted you from elsewhere - sign up on 5/13 in order to appear as if it was an all-WHT member competition.

Spare me the diatrebe on professionalism; as I mentioned I was fully aware of the poor mentality of those that deploy external mechanisms and baptize them as fair competitions.

The only thing I can find to your favor is that you are apparently very young and inexperienced - and unfortunately not the only one that has offered a nice fat steamy manure of a contest lately.

The only thing I have to say is that I am sorry you feel that way Timechange. That is not how things happened, but you already have it in your head that it did, and it ain't worth it to me to worry and try to make your realize anything when you are so good at jumping to conclusions.

You can believe what you want.
