Please enlighten me as to how I can create my own merchant/processor? Even though I found a pretty good merchant for my Pharmacy, there is always that nagging voice...esp. when you read so much about merchants going down with peoples money. Anyhow, is this possible, what banks should I approach to set this up, and what costs are associated with this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

from what i have read it will require a large and i mean large deposit as all banks will require backing incase something happens that the money will be guaranteed.

Also not sure if it is allowed to do 3rd party processing anymore from what all i have read here and there about 3rd party processor's being shut down and fined by MC

Thanks cpv1st , but I am not looking for a 3rd party processor. I would like to cut right through this, and be my own processor.

ihostdev, ya I would not be doing any 3rd party processing, just for my sites. Any idea where I would start, or how large of a initial deposit would be needed? I mean I am incorporated in Panama, do I just approach a bank? Or are there banks out there that specifically deal with this type of applications. Keep in mind I represent an online pharmacy.

Get a few million dollars and then approach a good systems integrator to help you develop the software you'll need to create.

That's not going to happen. You don't have the money, knowledge or backing to be able to do this.

Here many peoples who like to do that - but you have to prepare large deposits for your sponsoring banks (we talking about $$$millions) + go thru a LOT of different kind of inspections to be able to became processor + of course wise team who can handle all of this technically and keep manage it on ongoing basis. If you don't have $10M in cash - don't even think about it :)

Reasons more and more are getting shut down is because of all the fraud and the lareger CC companies become more strict with what they are allowing... and you'd fall in the same category.
