Anyone knows good and cheap internet fax service provider?

Fax service provider would need only receive faxes from people living in US, Canada. I live outside USA and would like to download all received faxes. And fax senders would have to send it to US based number. Thanks for any info.

There is a $1 service fee per month whether you use it or not. They do not charge to receive faxes but do charge about $0.10/minute to send faxes.

All faxes are sent and received via email. You can send by just typing an email or attach the fax in a variety of formats (.tif, PDF, MS Word, etc.). All faxes are received in .tif format.

By the way, since it is all via email, I would not use it for anything extremely sensitive, such as credit card information. But it has been great for sending and receiving contracts and the like.

You can use them from anywhere as long as you have email:) . All faxing is thru email. But you will have to use a US phone number. See below...

dendis:
You get assigned a phone number from California (they may offer from other states, but I don't think they did when I signed up). I believe people can also call it and leave a voice mail for no additional cost, but I don't use this feature.

I use faxaway.com for some time now with no problems.
I don't see why you could not use them as long as they get paid. But that is something you will have to discuss with them.

I've been using MyFax.com for mainly contracts and other documents. Relatively inexpensive at $10/month for 100 pages out, 200 pages in.

I just signed up for MyFAX.COM. Great service. I was going to use COMODO's TRUSTFAX since they seemed good, so I came here, searched and saw "ph23man" talk about myfax.com's 100/200 service. It can't be beat. Got my own toll- free fax number too.

eFax is out of the question. They are too expensive for less sends/receives.

Try www.efax.com -- I "think" that eFax might be the same as jFax :).

Yeah they are. EFax and JFax got together a few years ago.

Hi, I have been a Faxmicro user for almost 5 months now, and so far I don't have any major problems with it. Maybe once or twice when I was still setting up. I recommend this service because it is very cheap and user-friendly. It also offers a referral program where you can earn extra income. Just a little FYI for those who are looking for a fax service.

I've used and recommended to clients EasyLink for years and have been very happy with their product and service.
