Hello everyone,

This post is somewhat off-topic, but still a technical question none-the-less.

I'm working on setting up an mail server that will act as a gateway between the outside world and an exchange server.

This gateway mail server needs to be able to do the following:

* Message filtering (for attachements, viruses, etc) using procmail or the like
* Reference RBLs such as ORBs for open relays and spammers
* Run on Linux

Right now I'm looking at Sendmail and Qmail, as I've used and am familiar with both. I know both can work with Procmail on a local-user basis, but all of the recipients are on the exchange server.

Any hints, tips and links are greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
C

Hi-

Thanks for your response. I was looking at that yesterday, and I think I my use it in conjunction with Qmail-Scanner.

My only remaining question is- Once the email goes through qmail-scanner and spamassassin how can I get qmail to pass it on to the exchange server for delivery to the recipients?

You see, the recepients are all on the exchange server, the qmail server is only to act as an inbetween to intercept any viruses or spam that may be going in our out.

Thanks.
