View Full Version : Netacore | Dominet | Rokland | Availhosting ?
The_ReVenger 05-09-2002, 09:40 AM Ok i'm choosing between these 4 webhosts :
Netacore (http://netacore.com/compare.shtml / 15gb package) (do they have PHP4.1.2 ? )
Dominet (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48988 / special package) (do they have PHP4.1.2 ? )
Rokland (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48355 / special package) (do they have PHP4.1.2 ? )
Availhosting (http://www.availhosting.com/hosting / May Special 9.95$ package) (do they have PHP4.1.2 ? )
Cyberpixels (http://www.cyberpixels.com/plans.php) / PixelExtreme Plan) (do they have PHP4.1.2 ? )
Are they resellers ? Are they reliable, trustable, fast ? And have they good support ? Thanks !
And do they all have CPanel ?

Well, yes, according to the description page above, it is stated that they do have PHP4.1.2 . I went to my Cpanel on my account on availhosting.com and it still state it does have PHP 4.1.2 . I have not made use of it except for the forum.
Jeremy is very helpful and do his best in providing his clients with the best support as humanly possible.
You might have heard that the server has gone down a couple of times this month but most of which is the problem with the uplink provider.
As to whether they are resellers, I am not sure. Probably it would be best that Jeremy answer that.
And yes, they do use Cpanel.
Hope that helps.
Edwin
conma2cang 05-09-2002, 04:30 PM i like availhosting even though the server has been down several times this week (which got fixed rite away) and the fault has something to do with ther uplink provider as Eddy stated!
In fact i just signed up with their "may special deal" w/in this week! The support is great! Before i signed up, i im-ed "Avail Corp" thru aim and asked him a lot of questions which were kindly replied. I got my account opened w/in 30 min after signing up.
Whenever i have questions or find out something wrong w/ my site, i could just im "avail corp" and he would answer rite away. Unlike my last web hosting provider: took them days to reply.
If you want great support, avail hosting is a good one to sign up.
netacore 05-09-2002, 10:15 PM FYI: We've just upgraded to PHP 4.2.0
logicalw 05-09-2002, 10:41 PM Hello,
For what it is worth, I have a netacore account and their service and support rock....would definitely recommend them.

I agreed, I personally host my site www.simrtk.com with them when I signed up for the April Special... Great services and prompt response.

yeah i recommend netacore too! tickets answered quickly! been with them for around month and a half. :)
RobbertC 05-10-2002, 02:36 PM I have experience with Dominet, and they're good. Joman (the CEO) is a very nice and friendly person :)
The_ReVenger 05-10-2002, 05:01 PM Very much thanks for all the answers but hasn't anybody heard or is hosted at Rokland and/or Cyberpixels ? Please post responses about them too, if there aren't any, i'm gonna chose between Netacore, DomiNET and Availhosting. Thanks !
imitech 05-10-2002, 05:45 PM I have been with Netacore for about three weeks now, so I’m still quite new to their service. However I have had no major problems and their support is excellent. I once submitted a support ticket and got a response within the hour. I would recommend Netacore to anyone.

CPixels-Matt 05-22-2002, 02:12 PM Hi there,

TimPD 05-22-2002, 04:05 PM Some people lie about being resellers and not being resellers I think you should make sure and do a check. However, I don't see anything wrong with resellers as long as they provide the support they should. DomiNET I know the CEO and he is a great guy so I would give them a try.
No, We're not resellers.

Why would anyone lie about being a reseller? :stickout
Anyway, if you want to see the stats of our latest server (dual 1GHz PIIIs with 1GB of ram and 2 40GB HDs), feel free to visit http://www.avail1.net/

Ummm I would think maybe because if you are buying from a reseller you arm going down a step in support so now you are two steps away from certain support issues, where as if you are not reselling you can contact support and they can do it on the stop without having to call there provider. Also I dont know about you but I get asked this question ALOT.
HostInspect 05-22-2002, 07:54 PM Yeah most people ask this.
I have seen so far as you from RS/EV1.
Netacore from MCHost.
Dominet from RS/EV1.
Rokland from NetDepot.
Availhosting from Aletia.
Cyberpixels from NetDepot.
simrtk.com from NetDepot.
I see NetDepot isn't that bad, gotta check them out.
Being a reseller or not, what matters I see is good support, and good service.

I said it backwards -- I meant why would someone say they're a reseller when they're not, not why someone would say they're not a reseller when they are. Oops :stickout

Are u refering to my site as in www.simrtk.com ??
Avail 05-25-2002, 03:00 PM By NetDepot, he means DV2 (DV2 aquired NetDepot), and DV2 is the datacenter where our servers are located.
Yes, dominet.net is on PHP 4.1.2. That is one of the questions I asked them. I'm down to choosing between Dominet.net (http://www.dominet.net) and host5. Dominet has a very good price for the space and they also throw in support for multiple domains (each gets its own account). If anyone else has feedback about Dominet.net, I would also be interested. So far, searching through the archives, the feedback of Dominet.net is positive imo.

When it's up. It's down right now, it was down two days ago, it crashed earlier in the week as well.
I truly appreciate the personal, polite and prompt responses I have received from availhosting.com ... but the down time is driving me nutso!

It doesn't appear to matter at all, since if you go to the avail page, it states they are dead, and that I just recieved a refund of my credit card payment I made a few days ago.
Sigh.
